I have a 2018 Wrangler JLU Sport S 2.0

Recent Issues: It began with an overheating issue (it’s been resolved) but I changed out my 4 spark plugs, 2 of the 4 ignition coils, 1 ignition coil connector, my thermostat, heater supply hose, replaced my coolant recovery reservoir, the outlet hose to the coolant reservoir, and more recently, something caused my belt to shred on my water pump so the belt has been replaced. My mechanic said he did see what caused my water pump belt to break and said the water pump seemed to be working just fine. He mentioned my cooling system hoses are soft and need to be fully replaced sooner than later so I’m actively working on getting all the hoses so they can just be replaced.

After all of that was done my jeep is running fine and seemingly not having any issues BUT I am not noticing some sort of sputtering/vibrations when my Stop/Start kicks back on. So if I stop at a red light, the engine turns off and of course the A/C just blows outside air and when the engine kicks back on is when I’m hearing and feeling that sputter. I’m assuming it’s the water pump belt or system since I just had the issue with that belt being shredded. I’m no mechanic but I’m learning as I go.

Has anyone experienced something like this, so I have an idea of where to start looking? I’m really trying to avoid unnecessary parts and labor if it’s something I won’t be able to do at home myself. Thanks yall!

*The picture is the remnants of the water pump belt my mechanic fished out from the water pump*

Your hoses are fine. Hoses should be soft. They’re made of rubber.

I would remove your belt and attempt to spin each of the pulleys the belt rides on. Find the one that is difficult to turn by hand, With the exception of the crank pulley. That may be your problem.
