Not sure if it’s an issue or not but today I noticed what appears to be an issue with the rear camera, as you can see from the first pic it appears the camera is seeing what I can only assume is part of the camera housing itself and not the protective guard that goes over it, I had not noticed this before and nothing has hit the camera, I even removed the guard as I was thinking that it was the issue so I took it off and nothing in the lens area appears damaged or loose so have I just over looked this before ?

As you can see in the first pic it appears the lens is looking down further than it should and in the second pic just above the red line is what I think it’s seeing which is part of the camera ring itself and not part of the guard, so I am asking is this normal ?

Yes thats normal.. The "damage" you see is on every camera of every jl youll see... It happens when the spare tire bracket is molded since its plastic... It shouldn't be a problem when it comes to the integrity of the carrier

It’s not the damage in the second pic it’s the dark semi circle at the bottom in the first pic, it’s almost like the lens is looking down further than it should and showing part of the housing, I could have sworn when I first got it that the rear camera view was 100 % picture and not blocked by anything

Maybe a few of you fine Gents could snap a pic of your camera view so I can see if what I am seeing is normal, I honestly believe I would have noticed it before but maybe not.

I also noticed this and thought this shouldn’t be the case. Is their a fix to this?

If you want the dealer to take a look at your backup camera, let us know. We can get this formally documented for further review and escalate to a Case Specialist for an added layer of help.

I have the same problem with the backup camera not working on the display or the button itself. My power button also does not work, it will not turn off the uconnect system while on. My problems just keep adding up, getting all the issues others are.

Reset the radio by pulling the fuse under the hood for 20 sec then plugging it back in and see if that helps

I'm having the same issue with the back up camera. What is the resolution? Is this something I need to take to the dealer?

I've had this happen twice and I believe it was due to me starting the Jeep and putting it into reverse too fast for the backup camera to be initialized and powered on. Give it a day and it should reset itself and just make sure you don't start up the Jeep and immediately shift into reverse. It also affected the power button but everything else still seemed to work so it seems like the same problem

My issue is the same as the original poster. Camera appears to be angled down. Doesn't seem to be something that is related to putting it in reverse too quickly.

They are all like that... The black you see at the bottom is the spare tire
