Possible Battery Issue ?

It’s normal. The alternator charges when necessary. It takes advantage of certain situations such as deceleration. It’s counter-intuitive to us old fashioned gear heads but it is the new reality.

So on the display gauge, when driving and gas pedal pressed, the 12.x volts is the actual battery charge? And the 13,x or 14.x number during deceleration is the alternator charging?

I am taking my battery to be tested for my Service Stop/Start error message. Dealer says it will take about 4 hours.
How do they test it. Is it tested while still in the Jeep with engine shut off, or is it taken out and put a load and charge test?
