For those wondering what kind of wheel backspacing you can use considering the site recommends 4.75 for the Clayton lift, I just installed the Clayton Overland Plus lift with a 5.5 wheel backspacing. This was on a Rubicon. The wheels are 18x9, +12 offset with 5.5 inches of backspacing. The tires...
You can order one from this seller. It’s like $50 cheaper than the dealer. It’s connected with just one bolt and then slides off pushing towards the driver side. I then just removed one cable at a time and put them in the same spot on the new one. Solved my problem...
Anyone know of a video or instructions on how to remove and replace the green star connector behind the glove box? Also seeing one replacement part only has one row of connectors while mine has two rows.
Mice chewed up the foam/rubber that is at the bottom of the hardtop that makes the seal between the hardtop and Jeep. Does anyone have a part number replacement, opinion on a foam/rubber replacement to buy, or the thickness of the foam/rubber? Yellow line...
I haven’t yet. Been away for awhile and seems every time I have the time it rains. I still have to check the PCV valve if it’s good. Struggling to get it to twist off. My leak is still only seepage at extended highway speeds. Over 60mph.
I haven’t. Found its location and the little tab you have to push, and the hose to disconnect. But having trouble getting the pcv itself to twist off. Such an awkward location to work with. Going to try again this weekend.
This helps though, I couldn’t tell if it just twisted on or had screws. The hose was easy to get off at least. I removed the engine cover. I’ll have to figure out how it twists on.
Just seeps enough to coat the bottom and lower passenger side of the engine, doesn’t drip. Talked to a few others with the same problem and no answers. Took it to two mechanics and they didn’t know why either. Oil in the air filter housing is a lot less than the previous time.
Oil seepage on side and bottom of engine from the seems only at highway speeds, and once again some oil in the engine air filter. Not a oil cooler/filter issue and isn’t my rear main seal. Only thing left I can think of is the PCV.
Has anyone changed their PCV valve themselves on the JL? What’s the best way to get to it for replacement? Is it similar to the JK method with going through the passenger side fender?
Does anyone know where on the engine the PCV valve is located? Can’t seem to find any information on it for the JL’s. Already had it replaced once under warranty, trying it myself this time.
Update: Used a camera to check some areas. My leak is not from the cooler/oil filter housing, likely not a transmission leak, and no oil in the bell housing. Seems to just be coming from the area in the photo. Still only seeps out with highway driving. I was recommended not to fix it unless it...
I thought it could possibly be the cooler/oil filter cap housing too, but there’s no oil around that area or on top of the engine. I also changed out the pcv valve about a year ago. I put 95,000 miles on it so far. I’ll check both out again.
Anyone know what leak this is? I’m thinking a rear main seal. It only leaks after driving on highways, not slower roads. It doesn’t drip either, it’s a slow leak. Cleaned it up to see the leaking area better, and it appears to be coming from the area of one of the rubber plugs. This still...
What transmission fluid should be used on the automatic transmission? Also, is the Mopar ATF4 appropriate for it? Have a leak so it’s getting changed.
I’ve only done the drivers side but I’m assuming it’s the same. From what I remember (been awhile), the cable has a piece that slides into the mechanism, it’s meant to be removable. Hardest part was just removing a plastic clip that pushes into the mechanism to hold the cable in place. I believe...
The full folding mechanism plus arm will be easier to replace than just the arm, but cost a lot more. I’ve done it both ways. The arm does come off and will go back on, just annoying.
Unfortunately, I now have this problem too. Like many it started in a small spot in the top left corner. Obviously a defect. What’s worse is I’m out of warranty. Has anyone bought a new unit recently? Curious on what the price is. But also concerned that it’ll just happen again. Searching the...
