STOP.
The carpet doesn't cover the left front bolt. It's in the slide rail. Slide the seat all the way back and you'll see it. If you can't slide the seat all the way back you'll either have to fix that or go full brutality mode with a sawzall and cut that seat into pieces. Spare your carpet, it's completely innocent.

FYI, they used red locktite on those bolts. You'll have to repeatedly loosen and tighten them to work them out.
