You know the hitch mount isn't that bad of idea honestly.
Didn't you say you wanted / needed a spare for off roading? That hitch-mounted spare would kill your departure angle. Sorry, but it'd turn your rig into a mall crawler.

Not sure what is wrong with the OEM seat up. I carried 37 x 12:50 on the rear of my TJ its whole life and I used the OEM tailgate. Albeit later much later I converted to a fold-down tail gate. I did that when I started pulling a trailer on runs, cause I was out so long.

I'll finish the CavFab fender liners tomorrow and I'll do the rear fender flares at a later date. Been in the garage all weekend so far.
I will really & truly miss the gold shower curtain rod Scepter lights but I'm not gonna lie, your new fender flares look very cool bro, nice job! ??

MEDIOCRE!!!!! :please:

Are the turbochargers water cooled on the 3.0L diesels?

I readjusted my headlight bulbs about 2 hours ago. Looks like I had them turned upside down. So I got that fixed.

While I was in the engine bay, I decided to do something that I've been meaning to do since last summer, but just haven't put the effort into.

The wife is out with our granddaughter right now so what better time than now.

This right here is why it's effective, when your heater core isn't getting coolant, it shuts down. As long as your heater core is getting coolant it's always producing heat. You're cooling tubes go in right next to the heater core, so naturally you're not going to get as cold of air coming out of the AC when it's being warmed up by the heater core. ?

Sure it involves a little bit of cutting and snipping of the OEM tubing, but it'll be well worth it this summer!

Best part is, only $20!
MUZZYS A/C HACK KIT w/ Clamps and Attachment Tube!

Comes with everything you see in the photo!

Took me about an hour to install. The hardest parts were getting the hose initially pulled apart, and then cutting the fibrous tubing from the factory.

I don’t know that much about heater cores.
Is it bad for them to not be getting coolant circulated? They gum up or get deposits?
Smart concept though

I would suspect that largely depends on the age of the coolant and the cleanliness of the mix. If he's changing it routinely, I don't see the issue here. He could throw a simple inline filter in to try and keep it in check. Easy way to figure out if it needs to be flushed would be to monitor using an IR camera or attachment/app for a phone. If there are hot spots in the core, that would indicate where deposits are forming.

These LEDs SUCK
Low beams are... Okay.

IMG_20240111_192045632.jpg

But those high beams.... I don't even know where to begin!

IMG_20240111_192050189.jpg

I got another set on its way from China soon.

Screenshot_20240113-160328-360.png

Hopefully these are better, otherwise I'll be switching back to the Beamtechs.
The $11.23 FS lights should be fractionally better than the crapshow that is the HYNBYZJ lights for $27.81. Even the low beam pattern on the latter is lousy; there's no good reason for the bulbs' hot spots to be glommed together in the middle of the road as they are. The high beams are such a hot mess that you might consider not driving the Jeep until they're removed and replaced. Just a thought.

As for why the incoming LED headlight bulbs should provide a modest improvement over their predecessors, the answer is right there in the quoted post. I'll let you figure it out, and if you can't, I'll provide the answer after you post pics of the light pattern with the new FS bulbs in situ. ;)

I tried to be nice about it, but I was having trouble getting it unlatched from the gasser base... ?‍♂

I took a guess, I was under the impression that all of the fuel cap covers are the same size no matter what the base was, either 3.6/2.0/4xE/392 or 3.0. I guessed they were all the same in the end. Turns out I was right. :like:

This guy came off super easy, like almost too easy. I thought maybe I did something wrong it came off so easy...

IMG_20240113_140913319.jpg
IMG_20240113_140928973.jpg

I put some degreaser on the fuel cap and cleaned out the inside a little bit.

Came out really good in the end I feel.

Probably one of the smoothest and easiest mods I've done in quite a while. It was a nice change, that's for sure.
Dude,

SICK! ? ?

Honestly I'm just playing around with light bulbs from China. I'm just trying to figure out if I can find a good bulb that isn't shit for a good price. At the end of the day if this next set doesn't work very well. Then I'll go on to Amazon and buy a matching set to the original BeamTech bulbs I have. They still sell them on there, they're just like almost $50. Which is kind of ridiculous seeing us too I got them from China like 6 years ago for a fraction of that price.
So, $50 is ridiculous but now you're essentially going to pay $90 because of the $40 you've already spent on the cheap bulbs?

I’ve resisted subscribing to this thread for so long, but I keep coming back like an addict. Since you came to your senses and finally got a decent drive platform (congrats on your transition to the 4xe) I guess I can watch this derailed train continue to try and drive.

I do appreciate your ingenuity and serious affinity to not give AF
