What are you doin in Oklahoma??? Still here? Come to Anna, TX and say Hello!!!
We're in Lawton for a nephew's services. Unfortunately you're three hours in the wrong direction.

I tried to talk my wife into bringing the Jeep and doing some trails in TX on the way back, but her Mercedes AMG GLC43 is sooo much easier to drive on long trips. You basically just have to keep a finger on the wheel.

We're going to be going out to Colorado next October, not sure where yet exactly. It's definitely going to be an Airbnb, and looking for a small cute town with fun things to do for a couple days, though we plan on being there for a week... Any recommendations?

Going to bring the dogs and my Wrangler, and my parents are going to join as well, but they're going to fly in and rent a car I think. ?‍♂

Depending where you're at in Colorado, maybe we can hook up, just don't let our wives know!

Just two dudes, off-roading!
The Ouray / Telluride area is absolutely gorgeous and is surrounded by several beautiful trails. Rocky Mountain National Park is also a must see, but it's quite a ways away unless you'll be in the Denver area (just another big city IMHO).

We usually end up going to Moab a few times a year. If your goal is non-stop Jeeping then I'd spend three or four days playing around Ouray, then the same in Moab.

They are in the garage right now.

I'll probably install the rear fender flare this year, but I'm not going to install the front one until sometime next year.

I want to be able to enjoy my scepter lights for a while before I go ahead and disassemble them after I just got them finally finished.

Strangely enough each fender flare seems to be three pieces from what I can tell. I didn't really fully go through the box, just kind of made sure everything was there. But from what I can tell it's an exterior portion which is the part you see, and then there's an interior portion which is the part that screws to the body of the vehicle, and then you have the light that snaps into place presumably.

I'll probably assemble them whenever I Install the rear fender flares, just I'm already running out of room in our garage store stuff, so I'm not trying to take up too much space here.
You could put one on every few months. Just too keep it real and all! scepter lights are pretty cool though.

That's actually not a bad idea. I've never actually thought about sticking tools into the tubes. I feel like someone's probably already mentioned that and I just totally forgot about it, but it's like free storage!

Thanks Guy!?
Phew :whew: — looking at your Jeep it appears you haven’t spotted a certain “homemade half door” thread….. Yet

I actually saw that.

It's actually something I was thinking about doing really early on into my owning of my Wrangler, but decided that it would make more sense to build a door from scratch to serve the same purpose

Half doors are cool, but honestly if you're going to go with a half door, why not just go with a soft door.

All the soft doors I was looking at long ago have a snap-in top half. So you can roll around with a soft door that's fully closed on the vehicle, and then when you want to you can take off the top half. And then beyond even that, you can take off the fabric and have a tube door. It's like literally the best thing outside of having a factory door. Literally the best of all worlds, minus you know security and such. ?
I’m sure happy to hear that. I was afraid I would have to :please: forgiveness for leading an innocent soul into temptation

The old CJ soft doors, heater barely worked but you were like freezing to death at 45 mph and grinning cause you owned a Jeep!
C’mon— grinning because you got it up to it’s top speed of 45mph, but with no defroster it was the only way to get enough air blowing on the windshield……………… Ahh, the good old days. :crying: they are missed.

As the YJ was essentially a refinement of the CJ platform, I was pleased as punch to discover that the former actually had a well-functioning heater. I was never cold in that vehicle, and it was purchased new on a cold day in a Pennsylvania December. I even adapted pretty quickly to the two de facto airflow settings: Defrost, or Blend.

My Wrangler turned 2 years old today!!

As such my wife participated this time around, hopefully someday we'll have a massive people singing happy birthday with us. Though they will all probably think I am crazy! ? ?

Arctec Front and Rear LCA skids, installed by Collin County Off-Road in McKinney Texas!

It's the weld-on kind. Has a pretty nice beat on it, and I like how Collin County off-road dressed up the skids. Originally when they arrive from Arctec it was just the raw steel. I would honestly say well worth the $350 that cost me to get them welded on.

At some point in the future, maybe in a couple years I want to get my own welding setup and I want to start learning to do my own welding so that a lot of this kind of work can be done by myself. It's a very useful skill to have for sure!
Damn, I need to do something similar. Mine are beat to hell after our last trips through Ouray / Rubicon / Moab.

The wife responded with "nice" when I just showed her a pic of yours, so that's a good sign!
