Hello all,

I’m trying to find a way to permanently disable the automatic emergency braking i have on my JL. The settings don’t stick they just revert to on after i power on the car again.

Can this be done with a taser like the ess?

Thanks in advance

I believe I was able to do it with the Tazer. Been awhile and I’ll have to double check later to confirm.

I’m about 99% positive I turned mine off through the menu screen last year after a unwarranted panic braking incident and as far as I know it is still disabled.

The procedure to turn it off and on is pretty easy to follow so there must be a glitch with the OP's UConnect.

Sorry to bump this but i almost had someone rear-end me today because of this emergency brake.

Is the system camera based, should i simply slap a sticker in front of the camera in the windshield or is there a radar hiding in there too?

So apparently if the Radar/Proximity Sensors are covered with Mud or Snow it will Auto Disable all of the Advanced Brake-Assist and Full-Speed Forward-Collision Warning Plus! Can anyone else confirm this? If so can we just unplug these sensors so the safety features no longer have eyes? At this point it would always be disabled because it could never see. Additionally we can probably measure the resistance of the proximity sensors and add a resistor in the loop so the computer still thinks its plugged in but giving it a continuous fixed reading that nothing is there. Maybe even something easier like covering the sensors with stickers or tape. Ill keep y'all posted on my progress with this. Let me know what y'all think or If y'all have ever seen y'all systems disable them self's when your vehicle was covered in mud or snow.

The fact that we have to have this conversation is absolutely ridiculous. My BIGGEST FEAR is they will REQUIRE this feature to be enabled by LAW one day. With Cellular they can just force it. They will say "Its for your Safety" WE HAVE TO FIGHT THIS! This means we no longer own our vehicles. Soon we wont own anything. They do, Corporate/Government really think about that.

I do want to say these features are good for some people and it is a good technology. Just not for me or any of y'all apparently. My sisters n nieces need this though, so its not all bad. We should get to choose how we want it instead of just giving us an option EVERY TIME WE START THE VEHICLE. That "Option" can also be removed with ONE SINGLE UPDATE forced through with Cellular. Then it'll be on all the time with NO way to disable it.
