This may have already been discussed but it does work on the 2024. I did this on my TRX because when we are just slowly cruising down forest service roads, we like to take the seatbelts off and we frequently get out and explore around. It became really annoying in the new Jeep so I gave it a shot and it worked. I didn't check to see if it reactivated once you cycled the on/off but it never reactivated in the truck.

Could you take the belts and buckle them behind you?

Thanks for sharing.

If it does not reactivate, to me, this solution is preferable. I am fine with the dash reminder that the seatbelt is unbuckled, but the chime drives me insane. Yes, you can plug the seatbelt in behind you or you can plug in one of those fancy seat belt buckles that's also a bottle opener that makes it think the seatbelt is plugged in. For me, my dog is frequently in the passenger seat and weighs enough to trigger the chime. A belt behind her doesn't work, and I forget to remove that bottle opener when I have human passengers. Just disabling the chime would work best for me.

I wish there were better solutions. Doing what you describe will "arm" the airbag because weight in the seat plus a buckled seatbelt enables airbag front dash and passenger seat deployment in the event of a collision. Having an unrestrained dog in the seat with the airbag on could do a lot more harm than good if the unthinkable happens. :(

Exactly. Part of why I prefer just disabling the chime. However, she still is light enough that it does not activate the airbag; passenger airbag says off when she sits in the seat.

Nice tutorial! Going to give this a try Sunday after she gets her Fall Wax.

Nice video. I plugged in a seat belt extension off Amazon and it eliminated the dinging and did away with the auto park feature with the door open as well. The Jeep thinks your seat belt is connected all the time.

I have a Tazor mini and just shut it off for good. Set your hood alarm while you're at it.

I leave a seatbelt male (taken from another vehicle) in the female seatbelt buckle. No chimes or the taser which I also have as others have stated lol.

Anybody try this for the passenger front seat? Does it work there too?
