I'm really puzzled. The sensors in question are in the rear bumper right? How would rotating the spare by a hole or two make any difference? It defies logic; yet it seems to work for many.
My exact reaction. The outer area of the tire may be detected by the sensors in the bumper but not the inside of it. If the camera was involved mine would be going off when I put a lighted Christmas wreath on the spare.

I posted this in a similar thread, but I wanted to add here that positioning my spare so the weight was at the top fixed the phantom alerts for me. When the weight was at the bottom right, the right sensor was going off randomly.

Out of curiosity, what's the position of the weight in relation to the valve stem (TPMS) on your spare?

I'm pretty sure it is now at the bottom 6 o'clock position. My plan when positioning the tire was to put the valve stem near the top. But when I noticed the weight was at the bottom right, where the sensor was going off, I decided to move the weight away from the bumper.

Picking up on this thread from last year...I agree with you the rotation doesn't make sense..unless for some reason the tire lugs are just angled different relative to those two inner sensors (my parksense is giving me an error since putting on a larger spare). I tried the rotation, but it did not work. I'm going to try a hinge gate reinforcement bracket that also lifts the tire about an inch. I have heard spotty results from the dealer re-flashing the parksense. I have also heard some say they have success but blocking/partly blocking those two sensors by sticking felt pads on them. Most say they see results by removing the bumper and accessing the sensors and rotating them - but that's a lot of work and the sensors are fragile. Just really frustrated...

Dropping my own experience into this older thread because reading it helped me. Brand new JLUR (ordered), still with stock tires and wheels, that I received on 3/28. Had the little red screaming bars from Day 1 any time I was in reverse, no matter the time of day or location (center and right on driver display). Found this thread and opted to try rotating the spare. It worked perfectly.
