When I was out West driving through Utah, Nevada and California. For some reason when I was going through the Salt desert my blind spot would quit working and say I needed to clean the sensors. I didn't see anything, but after I got home and washed the Jeep there was a nasty film all over the back of it. I'm guessing all the road grime, sand and salt was causing it. Now that it's clean and I'm back In Missouri I haven't had any issues.

There's an update for this. Had to do it on my 24 392. The sensors still flake out sometimes but it's better than before. I suspect we'll get another update in the future to fully fix the issue

Thanks much! I'll take this in when I go in for my next Wave oil change and tire rotation. It may not quite be the same, but it'll be helpful I am sure.

@Johnny B Hit send too soon earlier and edited to add that the valve is at about 7 o’clock position. will look at the wheel weights and try your test when I get a chance.
Post on your findings. Somewhere, someone may wander through this thread and see what your found out and i t could be of use.

I have only a single 12V battery with the 3.6 liter eTorque. There is the 48v battery under the vehicle, but it's not the double battery system for the regular ESS.
If you surf through the posts on this forum about that setup (not an actual double battery, but), a lot of folks have had issues with dash lights, sensors and ESS, Park assist issues flashing and what have you. They eliminated that battery used for the ESS and haven't had issues after. I apologize for misleading on the dual battery wording.,..

No worries. I have a single 12v battery under the hood. There is a 48v battery with the eTourque. I don't have an ESS-specific battery that I know of.

"The 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine and the Turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine with Jeep eTorque technology does not use a traditional 12-volt starter motor. About the size of a small suitcase, the air-cooled battery pack is mounted to the interior rear wall of Jeep Wrangler's cabin."

i have a 2022 392 and noticed after getting a 5 tire rotation and installing the tpms sensor that i did not have in the spare. i now get this message on the dash at times other times its fine. valve stem for spare is at 12:00. looks like i may need to look into the update. that is unless others have something else to check

My sensors were fine until they got dusty during a trail ride with the Seattle group.

When we stopped to air back up, they were fine again...although I did NOT wipe the dust off the sensors.

Hey all.....after reading thru this thread, I must admit I'm a little confused. I too am having issues with the Rear Park Assist Sensors and not being 'available'. Started out intermittent, but now not working at all and every time I go into reverse, I get the dash message stating to get it serviced. The TSB posted will help when I take it into the dealer to fix this. Mine is a 2023 Rubi XR. Where I'm confused is others in this thread talking about the TPMS sensors in their wheels to report tire air pressure. What does backup part assist sensors in the rear bumper have to do with tire pressure sensors?

I'm fairly confident they're not related.

I have not idea what relation there could be between the spare tire and the back up sensors....that said here was my experience.

I did a five tire rotation on my '21 Rubicon and forgot to make sure that the valve (and TPMS sensor) on the spare was at the bottom (Six O'clock) position and sure enough I had all kinds of warnings that my back up sensors were not available. I adjusted the position of the spare and problem solved.

On my '23 Rubicon I have done the 5 tire rotation 3 times and after the last one I started getting the error again even though the spare was on the carrier with the valve down. The errors were intermittent and lasted for about 2 weeks and have now stopped on their own.

Again - I don't have an explanation for the why, but if your spare is mounted with the valve other than the down position, that might be something to try first. I do have to admit, the damn 35 inch tire and wheel combination is heavy!

Did the warnings include to dust off the sensors?

I can't recall if the parking sensor error ever popped up when they were dusty? The warning may recommend that, but truthfully I can't recall.
