I have yet to do it but one can submit records on dyi services to Carfax. Probably a good idea if you choose to sell the Jeep at a certain point and the potential buyer pulls the Carfax. Personally if I saw a Carfax with no entries for oil changes etc, I would move on to another listing..

You can add your own service work to the Jeep app
Twice now has the Jeep app been buggy enough that my maintenance entries were lost. I now no longer recommend it as a safe repository for vehicle info that is input by the owner. The lost data was already recorded on my Excel file, thankfully, so this suggestion is for those folks who don't currently have redundancy in place.

How do you keep a record, and what do you suggest for me to keep the record for warranty purposes?
I (reluctantly) take it to the dealer for the free oil changes (I got 3 extra ones from Jeep), to keep a relationship with the dealer, in the hopes that they will be on my side on any serious warranty work needed.

But I do everything else (diff gear oil changes, brake fluid flush, air filter, etc).

I print the receipt for the parts and write the mileage and date on the receipt sheet and keep it in a folder with the dealer service sheet. I also log it using the Jeep/Mopar app/website - they have an option for you to add service records.

I keep the receipt’s and log date and miles changed in a note book along with my other vehicles, also use the oem mopar oil filter just in the event I have an issue and they want to play the blame game.

I have the 2.0L turbo engine and I use Ravenol DXG. It’s a good PAO true synthetic. Sure it’s expensive but, so was the Jeep. I’d rather spend the extra $ on good oil than give it to the crappy dealer. Just my 2 cents…

That's a good point. It's something that I've done myself.

I usually purchase my oil and filters at Advance Auto during their recurring package deal sales: My choice of a 5 qt. jug of synthetic oil and [aftermarket] oil filter for $XX.XX. I'll use the oil, natch, but also an OEM filter purchased separately* when the vehicle's powertrain warranty is still active. After the warranty's mileage and/or time limit is passed, I'll pivot to the quality aftermarket oil filters that I've already on hand.

*...and elsewhere, too. The auto parts chain stores tend to have a too-modest selection of OEM oil filters, and of course never the one that I actually need. No matter. Amazon has them, and at a lower price.
