Painted the engine cover

Since I had left over VHT Hemi Orange engine paint from my Scat Pack injector harness covers.
I painted the Willys 2.0L engine cover & intake manifold heat shield followed by two coats of clear.

I've got a can of firecracker red and clear, and was planning to tag the dash...but this seems like a way better call!

It's a easy way to dress up my all Black engine bay. To highlight the lettering I used a 1" wide sponge brush and carefully dabbed the top of the lettering. When finished cleared the entire engine cover.

Think there'd be any issue just using mopar's standard paint over a regular primer, or should I use hi temp?

I don’t think that will be a problem. The engine cover is insulated on the engine side .

Well, I started in on mine last night. Should have known those five ounce cans would leave me stranded - waiting on more to complete the red. Also a bit worried with how the paint is laying with cracks, but hopefully full coverage and clear coat will fix that.

Clear coat will definitely help protect it.
