Hey guys. I need some help or expertise.

I crawled around the Jeep yesterday afternoon to make sure everything is tight and where is should be. Noticed some oily residue on the top of the enginer cover. Kind of hard to explain. Is this normal engine “grime” or should this not be here???

Thanks.

Considering the location you show surrounds the engine oil fill cap, I think we can all assume that someone missed the hole when filling the engine with oil.

To answer your question, no it should not be there. However, as mentioned above, it looks like someone simply missed the oil fill hole and spilled a bit of oil. Nothing to worry about. Clean it off and you're good to go.
