so I had this issue this weekend wheeling and didn't see it happening to many JL's so I wanted to post and hopefully help someone that may have this issue in the future.

after wheeling all day as I was leaving the park I seen my engine overheating.
I quickly shut it down and pulled codes.
I seen the 3 codes about the fan circuit shorted or open.
so I popped the hood and checked the fuse box, while I was trying to find the cooling fan fuse I pushed all fuses down to eliminate the simple fixes. [none of those were loose.]
after I found the fuse was n5 large block fuse and didn't see anything wrong with the metal and the nuts were still on tight, I pulled the fan connector apart and found I was getting power to the fan.
with the engine off for a few minutes I checked the fan blade and noticed I could not spin it at all!
I crawled under the axle and was looking at the back side of the radiator and fan shroud, I seen no damage and it was clean.
I tried to spin the fan from this position and still could not move it.
so I grabbed the shroud assembly and ever so soft pulled it towards me, it took minimal effort and I heard a very, very, very soft "click"
fan started moving, I got up and started the jeep and fan ran and everything worked.
I cleared the code, let it run for a bit to cool it down.
aired up, started the jeep and everything is working.

just wanted this put out there for things people can check if that code pops up on there JL while driving.
only thing I can think of was when I was rock crawling the weird flexing may have buckled the plastic shroud.

Same thing happened to my 2024 after some light off-roading. This post saved me a lot of hassle on a trip when I was long way from home. Thanks!
