I successfully installed a PA System in my Jeep and am really pleased with how it turned out. I saw how most people mounted their CB/PA amplifiers down low, but was never really a fan of that set up. Instead I picked up a JcrOffroad Overhead Molle Panel and mounted it to that using a couple of black metal plates I picked up at the hardware store:

Some might say that it is a little cluttered with respect to accessing the Freedom Panel latches, but I like being able to reach up to access it rather than down. The latches open without any issue, the microphone cable rests on a hook and does not obstruct the rear view mirror while driving, and, yes, that is an Alien Sun Shade running over the top of the overhead molle panel.

I nylon sheathed and ran the wires along the upper and driver's side panels, down through the driver's side firewall plug w/ a rubber grommet, and along the wiring channel at the rear of the engine bay. The PA speaker is mounted in front of the radiator (I replaced the bolts that came with the speaker with some that had flatter heads to just barely fit in the narrow space between the radiator and grille).

Even at 6'4" and closing on 300 lbs I fear the ability to convey my feelings readily to others on the road may bring me more trouble than I could reasonably handle.

This is more for fun on the trails with friends rather than rage.

However, with the way things are in the world these days, I find it to be a much safer way of communicating than actually getting out of the vehicle. For example, I witnessed a guy road raging and he stopped traffic by exiting his vehicle and approaching another motorist. I used the speaker to tell him to get back in his vehicle several times, that I was recording the entire incident on my dashcam, and that if he didn't get back into his vehicle I would have no other choice than to report him to the local authorities. He got back in his car pretty quick after that. Crisis averted (I reported him anyway).

Geez, this thread took a decidedly unexpected turn... I was just excited to share my install.

I'm deaf in one ear, and the more I think about it, the more I want to do something like this. I can park an external speaker behind me and facing my good ear, and have the built-in speaker(s) of the radio up closer to my head as well.

I've got a SkyPower One-Touch, though so MOLLE options seem limited.
