Over the air update issue

What's an iPod? I think I remember my grandfather talking about one when he was a kid.

Seriously, it still the best way to carry over 100Gb of music. Flash drives support in Uconnect is not the best, but iPod just works worked (before OTA update).

Disconnect the cellular modem antenna so it can't call home.

Actually, I've been out and about a few times, and the radio hasn't attempted to perform an update (or it already has and I just didn't notice). I went on-line to the uconnect site and entered my VIN to see if there was an update available, and the site indicated my vehicle has current programming.

Maybe the update only affects the 8.5" screen head units (I have the 7").

Any updates about iPod support?

I wasn't sure if OTA updates were still being done - I haven't seen one in nearly 2 years (after they did the OTA for off-road pages). When the OTA update for off-road pages happened, my jeep was in my driveway - so I know I don't need to be out and about for it.

I had a uconnect case manager on the phone for my nagging USB2 port issues and I asked them a few questions about the ipod support since it changed with this update. They could offer no help and when asked about a compatibility list they said they did not have one. Sweet.

Does any one know when the next orp update will be? Also any one at FIAT to send a letter to re: no help from dealer on Uconnect problems or jeep.

Yes, I have heard back from my Uconect specialist about this concern. In the recent FOTA update, iAP1 (Apple legacy communication system) support has been removed to align with Apple. If you have any further questions or concerns, we recommend contacting Apple Customer Support at 1-800-694-7466.
