Hi all,
When I bought my Jeep, it came with an angry eyes grill. I want to change it back so I’m looking for an original grill in gloss black. Looking around, I only seen to find more exotic options. Would love ideas of places to check. Thanks!

Consider waiting until the 2023s come out. In theory they'll have a new grill.

Some people will possibly love them and will be wanting to upgrade. That's your chance to get one of theirs for cheap. I would think that it would be unlikely that people would want to revert to an older grill.

You, on the other hand, might like the 2023 grill yourself. Then that becomes another option for you.

Have you seen any clear pictures of them Ratbert? I seen one at a side angle a bit but looked like headlight inserts were different design.

Does Jeep have a track record of keeping their updates a secret until official announcement? Just two weeks away from being able to order 2023, I do not expect any design changes for two reasons:

1. No leaks of a redesign

2. It would require Jeep to not to mix up 2022 and 2023 parts on an assembly line that has not figured out how to seat fuses properly or add a plastic washer between the door hinge and body. ?

No, just what others seem to be convinced of here. Lots of people seem to really dislike them while also speculating that they might have better airflow. Better airflow could be significant for diesels.

Edit: sorry, I misread what was asked. No, I haven't seen any decent shots of it.

A new grill was presented on one of the concept Wranglers at EJS, so that's a potential change. They've also apparently signed up for doing AEB by September 1st.

Satin Black grille is one of the first things I buy, and mount the original grill in the man cave, I do not sell the original since in the event I get a new Wrangler, I just reinstall the original, and reuse the SB, or in the case when I went from JK to JL, I sold it for almost what I paid for it, and use the $ help pay for the JL version.

I would recommend a Willys grille from eBay. You can find a nice used one in the $200 range.

I was able to find a couple of take-offs on CraigsList, and I'm pretty sure that I've seen them on Facebook Marketplace as well. Check the various other places with classified listings, such as OfferUp and NextDoor. Another possibility is to find a 4x4 shop in your area that does aftermarket Jeep mods. They quite likely will have one that they removed to install an Angry or other aftermarket grille, or they may be able to put you in touch with a customer that they did the work for who kept their original grille. Does your local Jeep club have a swap meet or classified section of their website? Check also the Marketplace here - I know I've seen one here. And of course, check with your local auto recycling establishments, particularly if there are any in your area that specialize in Jeeps or 4x4s. You may have to settle for some other color and get it painted or wrapped to match, although gloss black is one of the more common colors. Also, don't limit yourself to Wranglers - expand your search to include Gladiators, as the basic grille is the same. Although the mesh in the grille slots is more open on the Gladiators, it'll work on your Wrangler too.

I will add that you probably want to find it locally, because the cost to ship one may easily exceed the cost of the part. The grille isn't heavy (it's plastic) but it's big enough to generate oversize charges - especially if it's well packed with padding (and it needs to be because it's plastic and easily damaged when not installed).

One other thing that you may need to check is if you'll need the little trim pieces that mount on the sides and bottom. These may be included, depending upon your source vehicle. Or you may not need them, depending upon your vehicle and the grille that's currently installed. Others here may be more helpful on this detail because I know it's a thing, but I'm not well-informed on the specifics.

Oh, and here's a long shot possibility - find someone in your area with a gloss black JL and see if they want to swap with you.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone for all of the solid ideas for me to check out and follow up on. I have been keeping an eye on Marketplace but hadn’t considered the others. I’m not apposed to a satin black option because I do like it… just not sure that if I go that route if also need to change out my fenders as well as they are also gloss black.
