Great idea, but I am a little confused. How are you lifting this off? You say you can lift about 6" up and 6" back. Are you squatted in your Jeep and then standing up with it on your back?

Definitely don’t hurt yourself, I actually used my head and arms, back in the day I probably wouldn’t have needed my head. It’s not a design to do daily for sure, once or twice a week sure

I feel like I would be strong enough to handle the top if there was just an easy way to hold it. Does anyone know if anyone has ever attached handles inside near the balance point?

My intent is to store the top on a cart that holds it vertical. Handles in the right place on the inside would be perfectt for lifting it off alone and lowering it onto the cart.

I think the problem would be having all the weight in just those two spots.

I know it's expensive, but as a single person I swear by this thing. Plus if you have a shallow garage you just pull your hood in under it and the wheels slip under the Jeep like an engine hoist.

Plus you don't have to worry about gaskets getting crushed or having to mount hardware to the ceiling.

It also makes it mobile in case you need to get it out of the way for something.

Ok, so i'm extremely late to the removal party (as i've just ordered a soft top) but was wondering about the merits of using a motor bike scissor lift that would be wheeled into the back of the jeep from an elevated (wheeled) bench? Thinking there could be a hinged ramp from the bench to the jeep. Anyway, it looks good in my head.
