I am about to purchase an ARB twin compressor and am looking for mounting location ideas for the 2 door. My first option was the MORE (https://www.northridge4x4.com/part/...black-m-o-r-e-arb-dual-compressor-mount-black) however in the two door it looks like it would be right next to the driver side passenger which would really not be ideal. If it fit in the trunk like it does in the 4dr I will get this right now, but next to the passenger is not a good location. Under the seat is also not an option since there isn't a lot of space in the back when we have passengers. Trunk is a no go because we will have a lot of stuff back there when out camping and wheeling.

That leaves the engine. I've seen the Grimm option and I like it, but we go through water and mud a lot so getting it all nasty and gunky doesn't sound nice either, even if it is waterproof.

Where does that leave me? Is there any other engine mounting options I'm not finding? Any help and pictures would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

For longevity of the compressor, I not a fan of the engine compartment. One of the local jeepers has his compressor mounted on the hardtop sill in the back. Simple bracket and access.

Also, using a portable isn't the end of the world. Ask yourself how many times a year you need your compressor and how much installation time it's going to take. Is it really that much of a "time saver" in the long run? I have a ARB twin in the garage that hasn't been mounted because I have other priorities. I have a huge Moreflate type 10 cfm as well. But I've been using a Viair 440P in a plastic ammo can with a 2 tire hose arrangement I made out of Harbor Fright stuff. My air up time is within a handful of minutes of friend's with onboard ARB twins. So, do I spend a weekend installing my twin or just roll with what I have? I like the cool factor of an onboard compressor, but I have other priorities (parts) stacked up in the garage.

I was using a portable one until I dropped it and broke it this weekend after wheeling. Since I have to buy a whole new system, might as well make it the coolest as well as eliminating the possibility of ever dropping it again. But yea I guess it is mostly the cool factor and it just seems like a really fun project to take on.

I have a single ARB compressor, it's mounted behind the left front fender well liner. Has been there a couple years. It works great and fills the 35 inch tire quickly. I don't need the dual and I don't want the thing in the cab. Here is the mount and heat shield. https://www.[Banned Site]/store/proddetail.php?prod=PARTS-ACM

This is the kit I have for my 2 door and love it. Easy 4 tire control up and down, nice install and tucked away under the passenger seat.

This was my favorite option after I eliminated MORE but my wife says no to under the seat in case we have passengers. Space is already limited back there. Unless you can confirm it's not that bad so I can try to cautiously convince her again.

It doesnt stick out from behind the seat at all once its in the normal position, and other than them having to be conscious of where their feet are when they step in with the seat forward it doesnt seem to affect the people sitting back there according to my wife, and my grown son has never said anything about it.

This is the best picture I can get of its location installed since we dont have the rear seat in often and I have a base plate in there to cover the holes so the dogs dont have to deal with the holes and get their paws caught in them.

I think all the options come with some compromise. You might consider an ARB single with an @813 Fabrication & Design mount high up under the hood, or a DIY installation behind the drivers side tail light. Otherwise I would give up the small amount of foot room to install an ARB twin under the passenger side front seat.

Ok, that looks good. I guess it'll be between this one and the Grimm behind the fender which I really didnt want. How was the install on this, any videos specific to this setup? I'll do my own research of course, but if you know any off the top of your head...Thanks.

813 also has one for the twin under the hood. Only thing holding me back on this one is the heat since its right over the engine.
