Are you saying the Iceco VL45 did or did not fit on the AAL slightly wider slider?
The fridge fits on/in the slider fine. However, it will not fit in the Jeep. Even with the fridge pushed all the way to the front of the slider, it's too long to fit in the back of the Jeep. The rake of the back seats keeps the slider from closing completely with the fridge on it. The slider only goes on the driver's side of the Jeep, and it can only go so far forward without hitting the tailgate (I have an AAL tailgate table), so I had to sell the fridge and go smaller. I'm pretty sure a Dometic 45 will fit, but it will be pushed up to the front end of the slider, so you will have to bolt it down. I use straps, so that wasn't an option for me.

Thanks for the info! Fingers crossed I have luck not using it with a tailgate table.

I was thinking of adding a little more storage utilizing the spare tire on my JLU XR (it has the tailgate reinforcement). I have read the majority of my overlanding adventures, I will probably not need extra fuel but I am considering (1) 2.5 gallon Rotopax. Has anyone done anything creative/DIY with the other mounting plate that comes with the Rock-Slide Engineering EZ Tire Rack? I was thinking maybe some type of small lightweight tote mounted directly to the Rock-Slide plate that could sit on top while the Rotopax was mounted to the other plate on the side. I am getting by now with storing everything inside but I plan on taking some longer than 3 night adventures and maybe a little more storage would be good. Trying to avoid the expense of a full roof rack and a hitch rack is kind of a PITA.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
A little follow-up, we just got back from 2 weeks in southern Colorado and Utah. My prototype spare tire mounted box worked out fairly well. I chose to mount my re-purposed "trasheroo" type bag (my daughter's old soccer backpack) to the side so I could still utilize the rear camera. No issues with the tailgate weight (came in around 26lbs. loaded) and the box never budged after the strap was cinched down. Ideally I would have built the mounting plate out of aluminum but I just used stuff I had in the workshop at no cost. OR one of the Rock-Slide Engineering EZ Tire Rack would look cleaner and sit maybe 1" lower. Inside the box I stored my stove, dishpan, camp light, water pump and an extra green bottle.

Previously, no, since my tire weighs a ton (38x13.5x17).

Recently got a teraflex hinged tire carrier. So now if be able to mount more things to it without fear of damaging the hinges.

I already have a molle style mount on the side windows, which carries fuel/water or traction boards.
But perhaps I'll get the ratchet strap mount for additional fuel, like a 5 gallon jerry. Currently only have a 2 gallon rotopax.
Also, I always bring a trasheroo type bag on the spare.
