We have a new Rubicon Unlimited 4DR with off road tires. Would anybody have good suggestions what are the best on road/highway tires for very good comfort for this type of car? Thank you!

I have the BFG all terrains and find that to be very comfortable but a lot depends on what you were used to previously. If you need something not as stiff, maybe look into a light truck tire from Michelin?

I think the Falken Wildpeak AT3W is a great all around tire for looks and function. I drive quite a bit of highway to and from work. For an E rated tire they are very quiet and ride great. Though that is my opinion and there are many opinions on tires.

BF Goodrich KO2 offers the best combination of on-road, off-road and all-weather handling on a truck.

You can get more road-bias tires, but your Rubicon is going to look totally dorky.

Good luck.

I agree. My Jeep came with the factory 33" Falken M/T tires. At 500 miles I changed to the 35" Falken Wildpeak AT3W A/T tires. 98% of my driving is on payment, but I have been off road in dirt, mud, gravel, etc. and it seems to me the off road traction of the A/T tires is about the same as the M/T tires. I know the A/T tire is much better in the snow than the M/T tires due to the tread siping.

I am interested in the same thing. 90% of my driving hwy or road. The tire shop recommended Cooper AT3 LTX tires. Does anyone have any experience with those or the Cooper Rugged Trek?

That's a good recommendation, another to consider would be the Toyo Open Country AT.

Another vote for Falken Wildpeak At3w. Spends most of its time on the road but fantastic off road as well!

Several reviews from tire rack, Canada off-road …etc show this is an amazing A/T choice and in a lot of ways out paces the BFG K02 in many ways!!

I am looking for a road tire with “light” off road capabilities as I only have the chance to run a few trails every couple of months. 95% of my driving is hwy, unfortunately. I am willing to compromise a little on look to gain some road chips and a mile or two of mpg.

I have experience with both and both are excellent. My friend has 30,000 miles on the Rugged Trek and goes out every weekend on dirt roads. I used to run the AT3 (the passenger 4S version) on my prior Jeep and it was excellent. The AT3 will be a little quieter on road.

I never popped an AT3 even on rocky trails but I'm a precise driver. My friend had the AT3 4S and had to switch to the Rugged Trek because he drives fast down fire roads without scanning for rocks.

Will this jeep be for on road only?

I'd suggest looking for tires with a C load rating.
E rated tires have thicker sidewall, which makes for harsher ride but strong, more puncture resistant.
I went with a D load, something more comfortable than my last tire which was E rated (BFG km3).

I just put on the Wildpeak AT3 in Load rating C and my goodness the drive on the highway is so smooth and quiet!
