Hi Everyone,
So, in prep for taking the JL in to set up an appointment I knew that I needed to reorient the power switch for the Rockslide steps. Last winter the Jeep threw a code and I took it to Autozone to have it scanned. They said they couldn't plug the scanner into the OBD2 port. The Rockslide switch bracket basically mounts on top of the OBD2 connector bracket. I figured I could just bend the Rockslide bracket up and out of the way... I still might be able to do that; but, the bracket is pretty beefy. So, I decided to take it off to do the work. That's where I'm at now.
The orientation of the OBD2 plug doesn't really look right to me. I am attaching some pictures (although they're not the best). The pictures show the bracket/connector skewed driver-side, right up against the kick panel. I have searched a little online for pictures and most of what I see show the connector horizontal, almost parallel to the floor. The OBD2 bracket is installed flush with another bracket on the IP frame.
The Jeep is a 2021 JLUR. Does anyone else have a bracket/connector that is oriented the same as in these pictures?
Thanks for any input.
Take Care,
Jeff
