I'd be interested in joining. I haven't been to Reiter, yet. So, this weekend is cancelled?

Yes, it didn't make sense for only 2 of us to go (when we made the call). That being said, there is a work party this weekend at Reiter. I plan to attend.
If anybody doesn't have a club yet and is interested in meeting some club members in a volunteering environment, the Timber Tamers would welcome the help! There will still be some opportunities to see/drive some of the trails but it won't be a hard day on anybody's vehicle. It's also a chance to see the park without risking your rig if you just want to park it! Bring outdoor working clothes/gloves, plenty of water, sunscreen, etc.
Just ask for Chris (JL Chris or Michigan Chris) when you get there. You can spot my rig by the Michigan rear plate (no front plates for MI). Otherwise, I'll post up a new proposed date next week!

They switched to 8 AM start. I will come back down to the parking lots at 9 AM to find anyone. You can also try hailing us on GMRS/FRS channel 16 (4x4).

I'm also in Kitsap County (Port Orchard) and have ventured out with @NOIDEAWIAM . I was at Reiter for a couple hours on Sunday. We were in the area and thought we would check it out. We were solo and no other Jeeps in sight, so we kept it to the easy stuff (I'm winchless at the moment). Looked like a fun area with some challenging and well-kept terrain. Thanks to those who work to keep it that way. I would be interested in heading back someday. Also want to check out Walker Valley at some point too.

We were solo and no other Jeeps in sight, so we kept it to the easy stuff (I'm winchless at the moment). Looked like a fun area with some challenging and well-kept terrain. Thanks to those who work to keep it that way. I would be interested in heading back someday. Also want to check out Walker Valley at some point too.

I’ve got to get back up to Walker. I’ve heard it’s taken a beating from idiots ramming rocks at WOT and is too dug out for stock or mild vehicles now. Hopefully that’s only on the more difficult sections. Normally I prefer it for beginner runs as long as people have sliders for the gatekeeper. Rieter’s trails are a bit harder, but Twizzler is super easy for stock vehicles or those without sliders.
Reiter is a bit beat up from their rock crawl. Twizzler should still be good but I got hung up on Easy Green in my 2 door. I couldn’t break over the top shelf and almost got stuck-stuck on it. I used to be able to belly my 4 door Rubi over it, so it’s gotten dug out too on the bottom of that obstacle.
Part of the issue might just be the time of year.

I'm out in Kitsap. I know Tahuya really well but have not ventured out further yet. I have a spiritic schedule with work on Saturdays. Sundays are usually best for me. I would love to hit up Walker, Reiter, Elbe and Natches too. A few weeks ago I wanted to hit up the BOH trails in Oregon but the logistics didn't pan out.

Never heard of Reiter but googled and I will put that on my trail list. Haven’t been to Walker Valley since I was rock hounding as a kid. My parents had a cabin nearby.

I just did the two BOH trails (Cedar Tree and Firebreak) with a buddy from Reno about a month ago. My first BOH’s and actually first true offroading with my JLR! Seems we should get together!

Thanks for the insight on Reiter. I think we did twizzler, old school, maybe easy peasey? I got hung up on one of my removable steps because someone forgot to bring the tool to remove it (me). So it was more challenging than it should have been. Surprised that there were only a few two-wheelers and one FJ on a Sunday. I think everyone may have been at the local swimming hole.

Yeah, we’ll have to meet up sometime. I went once with Nick and his family to Tahuya and that was a good time. It flexed the legs on my stock Rubi XR pretty well.

Those are all trails I would have hit with a beginner run. I think Wandering View is great for someone who's never been offroad. Nothing technical, but just tight enough to get new drivers to watch their corners.
Some of the Mainline and Twizzler connectors are great for someone who wants to start getting into technical lines, but I'm not skilled enough yet to do them without a spotter or by getting out every 2-3 feet to check everything.
As for 2-wheelers, you should never see them in the 4x4 trails. That's one of the good points of Reiter, they're supposed to stick to their trails rather than cause safety issues on ours trying to pass on obstacles.

Thanks again for more insight. No, only saw one bike on the main road in and several other trucks parked along the side (assumed to be more bikers). I only encountered the one FJ and I think he was going up the advanced trail. Saw a lot of oil on the rocks and decided that was not for me.
