I'm wondering if this play in the differential is normal? This is a rubicon of course and the locker is on.

I do have some play between the pinion and ring, I'd say 1/8 turn of the driveshaft. Last time I was at the dealer they said it was normal. I was talking about this wheel to wheel play, seems excessive. My '78 corvette has a fraction of that.

Yes that is with the locker on. Discovered that while testing the tazer JL in 4Hi.. I'm getting issues where its not clear if the lockers are on or not so I thought I'd jack it up to test.

I didn't notice anything while wheeling besides the unusual ( to me ) driveline play. The dealer said it was in spec so I didn't push the issue further.

Also, Diff fluid is nice and clean, no shavings.

Did you find out if that’s normal or if something is failing.

No... And I wheeled it hard without fail. If I ever get the time to bring it to the dealer, I'll ask.
