Okay guys
I just bought a new 2024 Rubicon JLU with the XR package. Came with BF Goodrich tires in metric. Equivalent to a 35 inch.
The issue I am having is I hear a low harmonic low bass sounding noise which sounds like it is coming from rear of vehicle. The noise does change with road type and speed.
Tires came from dealer set to 40. I changed to door sticker which is 37 and even chalked tested down to 31 psi. No real change.
Took back to dealer today and had them rotate tires and rebalance them again. Check out the rear end for noise, metal shavings and proper fill. Checked out good.
Drove home and same issue. Jeep had 54 miles on it when bought and now just over 700.
Jeep was a 2024 and sitting on dealers lot for almost 10 months so it sat through a summer and a winter here in the Midwest. I do not think noise is because of flat spots. I do not feel any vibration in steering wheel.
I have had off road vehicles most of my life and have had AT and MT tires from size 32 to 44 but have not been owner of a jeep for about 35 years now.
Could this be because a new stiff suspension that needs broken in? Could the rubber in the tires have become hard? Is it just jeep thing and I just have to put up with it?
My next plan of attack was to see if the dealer is capability to road force tires. And maybe pull tires off another Jeep in the lot and confirm if it’s the tires or another issue.
Anyone else have any similar issues or suggestions to help a frustrated man out
Greatly appreciated
