Get a tire deflation tool and a good air compressor. Ive seen a number of people with the harbor freight one. The one that runs off your battery, NOT cigarette lighter.

18mm wrench and socket to disconnect your sway bars when off roading.

Drive it for awhile and assess you needs. Far too many folks with brand new Jeeps festooned with accessories from QT or XT that they never even put any though to as they would work together.

Recommendations. No chrome and no angry eyes.

You got a new Willy’s and you’re just curious? I recommend joining a local club full of like minded individuals.

There you’ll be able to explore nature trails and figure out what type of driving and riding you enjoy. You’ll also quickly ascertain what’s a need for your new Willy’s.

Be sure to bring the wife along with you when you’re out playing with your Willy’s. When she experiences you exploring and comes across any limitations, you’ll have her buy in from the get go.

And then you’ll really start to experience exactly what it means to Just Empty Every Pocket.
I'm curious about what mods everyone recommends, the Jeep life is something my wife and I have wanted to do for a long time.

As far as mods go when the time is right, this is my recommendation:

- tires first. Best way to add capability.
- rails (you may be good there with the Willys)
- bumper/winch
- skid plates. I got them for my diffs and lca’s.

These aren’t mods but are key accessories:

- tire deflator . I like the arb one
- air compressor to air back up

I have rails and skid plates already, winch is definitely going to be added as soon as I get the chance. She came with the stock Firestone Destination M/T2 that seem like capable tires, so I'll try them first, then change them if I dont like them. Definitely looking Into the deflator as well, alre have the compressor.
