I recently put a micro rear bumper on and I wanted something to cover up the lower corners. I looked at my options and everything seemed overkill and you have to drill what seems like a million holes. This is something I’ve been working on. These are cad drawn and laser cut. They require 5 holes drilled and would come with stainless hardware. These do not require rivnuts. I also think they will come with some sort of foam backing to protect the paint. They are 1/8 mild steel and add some much needed thickness to the corners. Let me know what you guys think!

Well if you do strike the tub and that piece is not secured or folded under the tub, expect an expensive repair to the tub. A big no on the foam as it will give and allow that piece to flex when it is dragged off a rock plus the foam will hold moisture. I taped my tub off and used a headliner material before my install of the Rusty tub protection.

I think it needs to have a 90 degree bend to wrap under the tub like Rustys Off-road rear fascia or it’s going to be more for scrapes on the side and not for dropping down on this edge. I get that people are hesitant to drill and/or use nutserts but I think it’s worth it.

I completely agree that Rusty’s and motobilts offer more protection. If you’re one who is really going to hit the cab a lot those options are great. These pieces come in at 1/3 the price and would be similar to nemisis’s trail skirt. Just a cost effective way to clean up the pinch weld area.

Like I responded above this option is more similar to nemisis’s trail skirt. They already have super beefy options available for corner armor. Rusty’s and Motobilts are awesome products.

I shouldn’t have said foam. It would be a VHB tape. It would act as a seal. Not a water trap. It is thin enough where there would be no movement. It’s durable and would not break down.
