It’s been spoken about many times and it seems many new side steps have hit the market in the last 2 years. Has anyone definitively used a sidestep, mud guard combo that prevents rocks from hitting the rear fender flare and panel? I was just about to order the LOD Destroyers but figured I’d ask the forum first. Thanks

When I bought my Jeep it didn't have mud flaps or sidesteps and I would get dirt and rocks all over the back half of the jeep. I installed some tube style running boards from Quadrateck and that definetly cut down the amount of dirt/rocks that fly up the side. I'm sure if you got an an actual mud guard or a wider running board/side step (like those thick plastic kinds I see that run the full length) it would basically eliminate this problem.

I got these from Extreme Terrain and like the look and the stop a lot of the rocks and mud. Not too expensive which was important.

I think the width of the board is key. Ones I have now, Magnums, run flush with the body with the exception of the step which protrudes out. It seems in order to prevent debris from hitting the back the sidesteps need to extend out to the width of the fender flare. Thanks

I've got the Destroyers, which definitely reduced the amount of debris on the sides, but I've got chopped fenders and 38x13.5's on -12 offsets. Nothings gonna block those. These sliders don't extend as far into the wheelwells as many others, so they should play well with a set of rock Blox mud guards.

Love the look of these. Hard
To see from the pic but do these come out close to the end of the fender?

Here's another angle, and a comparison of the factory rails and Destroyers. I've also chopped all fenders, so it's more open on mine. Let me know if you'd like specific pics. The Jeep is close by.

Thanks man. These look awesome. Here is what I currently have...from your pic seems the LOD would provide a lot more protection. I have the Weathertec guards as well.
