‘22 Gladiator Mojave owner here, decided to join the group since my wife wants to get a 2-door Wrangler for herself. All she wants is a soft top, v6, auto and cold weather group in white. I’d like for it to be a Rubicon with those options. I’m considering ordering one to keep the cost down with any unwanted options. can anyone give me some advice on the ordering process? Thanks

@Snook,

Welcome, and she won't regret the bright white 2 door. Best vehicle I've ever owned here in Colorado. I love seeing every inch of my home state up close and personal.

Here's my 2019 Sport S 2 door 3.6L Auto, lifted on 35's going everywhere I care to point it. Rubi's are certainly way cool but in my opinion just a little overrated.

You'll enjoy whatever JL (or JT) you end up with as long as you drive it to anywhere in life you want to go with it. For me, any day above tree-line (about 11,500 ft) is a great day. I get to do that way more than anyone driving anything else. Go find your favorite destination. Your Jeep will make the journey even better getting there.

Happy trails.
Jay

Welcome!

Be sure to check out the Ordering forum for tips, and user a dealer listed on Ratbert's spreadsheet to get the best deal. Ordering from these dealers is definitely the best way to go.

I got my 2024 Sahara over the summer from Dan Cummins CDJR in KY - the deal they gave me blew away my local dealer so much so that it was well worth it to order it in KY, fly there, stay overnight, and drive home the next day with it!

If you're anywhere close to Lake Lanier U2 can come see my white Rubi 2dr HT ordered thru Mike Clinnin at Mall of GA. My wife ordered a black 2dr Sport S. White is the way 2 go, V6 Auto Rubi.

Have you thought about going with the Willys Edition instead? Really Great value and I think it’s better for 2024.

do you get a better deal when ordering? Seems like all the dealers want sticker for the Jeeps on the lot?

Yes - a good dealer will give you a great discount when you order. Most want sticker plus all their silly add-ons if you by from their stock.

I hear ya. My wife has been a part of every Jeep I’ve ever owned except my first one which she would have never liked. A CJ, radio and heater delete with only a bikini top even in New Mexico is pushing your luck!

It takes the two of us to make it work. For the last Jeep we started with color. Well our color was only offered in 2019 and 2020, (bikini pearl). Yes they may have brought it back for this year, but we were not looking that far into the future. But we found the Jeep we both wanted so it worked out.

With you folks living in Georgia, the Soft Top should be a great thing. For us we got the hardtop, but put on the Bestop Sunrider top to replace the Freedom panels and it’s worked great for us.

Good Luck!

Since the following subject recurringly makes the rounds on the forum, and not always with a happy ending, I'll mention the following:

When a buyer can't or won't proceed with taking delivery of his vehicle, there have been instances when the dealer either refuses to refund the deposit, or refuses to transfer (apply) the funds towards the purchase of another vehicle. In other words, the funds are retained by the dealership without recourse to the buyer.

The foregoing is linked to dealer policy. To protect your own interests here, you'll want to determine what your dealer would do if you find yourself in similar circumstances.

By way of example, in PA, a dealer must by law return a buyer's deposit to him when he requests that they do so. In that precise instance, they aren't allowed to retain it. It's understood that the buyer then loses any claim he has to the vehicle in question, but he's also protected from loss. Not every state provides the same degree of consumer protection.

Keep this in mind, doubly so if you do place a factory order and the dealer requires a substantial deposit figure. Mine required only $500.00, which was IMO fair and reasonable. I've seen posts mentioning deposit requirements that were as high as $2K.

P.S. -- Ask if or how you'll be price-protected if the cost of your Wrangler would increase between the order and the delivery dates. That's another instance where some folks got stung and others (like me) haven't.

Best wished going fwd with your Jeep

Purchased a 2022 JLR (w/Manual).

Was going to use it some as a DD, then my wife decided to sell her Lincoln MKZ as she liked the Jeep better.

Added goodies include heated seats, tow package, blind spot, 1/2 doors, leather seats.
