Picked up a stock 2024 Wrangler sport and thinking of swapping the old look grill for a black Mopar grill. My Jeep is Anvil (love the color) and wondering thoughts on a black grill upgrade vs one matched to the paint.

I feel like that's a decision only you can make.
You could save money and matte black plasti-dip your current grill. If you prep clean it well and use enough layers, and decide you hate it, you can peel plasti-dip off.
They also sell satin and gloss plasti-dips
The Willys have black grills, you could look up pictures of those to get a feel for it.

I would go for the color matched grill. DIRT ROAD CRED did a video on their 2DR anvil.

If you decide to go with the black, it would look like this…

I had mine painted...~$400 for the paint job, painted to match by VIN/color. I think that regardless of what you do, it is likely best to get it protected by either Plasti-Dip or painted to match to protect it from the sun/elements. There are some on this forum who haven't painted it an appear happy with that though. Best of luck.

Every time I see the Willy’s black grill on a differently colored jeep, it grows on me a little more

OG JL grille is better than the renegade grille and nobody will ever change my mind.

For decades the rest of the fleet resembled the wrangler grille but never replicated it. For JL.2, they went the wrong way, and made the wrangler look like the rest of the more pedestrian fleet.

Big fan of the new grille on the Willys in Anvil. I do think it would look better in all black rather than body colored surround.

I buy the Satin Black from Mopar, it's well worth the money. The grill is highly visible, I wouldn't go the cheap route on it, I especially wouldn't use Plasti-Dip on the grill, I've seen people do it, it degrades the look of the Wrangler.

If I trade/sell the Wrangler I swap back the original, and use the SB grill on the new Wrangler, I've done this a few times.

The one I had on the JK, I used it on the 2007 & 2015, then sold it when I got the JL, bought the JL version, used it on the 2018 and now on the 2021.

If you prefer the glossy black, you can find them for $100 or so from people that use another grill.

I'm just wondering if the 2024 grill has more clearance for a Warn 10 Zeon. My grill-winch clearance is zero on my 2018. Which means taking the grill off is a huge PITA.
