Yea, at this point i am considering talking to the shop about getting rid of the Yukon gears and going a different route which from all i see will be the Spicer gears.. Thanks for the info.
The info I gathered from months of dealing with this, is it’s only the 4:88 Yukons that are doing this, even Yukon is aware of the problem. 4:56’s no problems, unfortunately it cost me an xtra 3 grand$$. I read a lot of threads afterwards saying only to put the Spicer gears in your Jeep. Live and learn I guess, good luck to you.

I just had 4.88 Spicers installed 700+/- miles ago and their quiet as church mice. Couldn't be happier. Sorry you had to go through this...

No, it should not make any noise. The installer is responsible to set up the pattern correctly.

FWIW, I had Yukon blame their R&P on 5.13’s they set up themselves. 2 installs later, I was refunded everything for both rear installs/parts they did.
I went Dana, learned myself, and things went great. I found their setup to be garbage.

Resurrecting, on my 4th Rubicon, new 2023 JLR 2dr, 4.88 axle, definite loud whine letting off gas. Never heard a rear end whine like that except my sons ranger with 200,000 miles on it. I only have 50 miles on it, let it wear in some more?

Definitely not. Get it looked at first opportunity.

I’d start by making sure there’s sufficient oil in the axle. On my regear to 4.56, I had a whinning sound that disappeared in a few days.

I had mine regeared to Revolution 4.56. No noise, looked great at 500 mile Break-in, no issues 1000 miles later. Break-in protocol must be followed, if those gears overheat anytime in the first 500, toast and noise. In my opinion, shop matters, break/in is critical

Well day to. Put another 50 miles on it over mountains. Noise not noticeable, never drove a rubicon with only 40 miles on it.
