What are some local trails in New England for off roading. I've never tried it so would appreciate any recommendations and difficulty levels.

I live in Boston and don't mind driving a bit.

Thanks!

I’d suggest joining a club and doing a few entry level rides. BayState Jeepers is a great MA club. You can fix them on FB.

Thanks! I will look for this group.

Seems like the information is scattered. Any recommendations or list of locations would be really helpful here.

We ended up taking a ride up “rootville rd.” In Manchester. I wouldn’t call it four wheeling but it was a fun ride up a really steep rocky road for a few miles to a nice Lookout and turn around.

it was weird passing hikers on a trail but I gave them a wide berth and treaded very lightly.

next trip to VT gonna look at some of the class 4 roads like “chataguay rd. “ looks like some fun jeeping.

I haven’t been to 508 but I heard it’s pretty mellow. I’ve got a bunch of spots around here in CT that are good dirt road rides but nothing challenging that’s legal.

Unfortunately there is no legal off roading in lower NE. Although... here in the PRCt I found a work around, Unimproved roads. A little over 500 miles worth! Some are just dirt roads while others are a little more spirited. Just enough to raise the wife's anxiety. So if your just getting started, like I am, look for town maps on the state DMV site and look for some legal dirt roads.
