A go to option, autozones best battery, 3 yr warranty, dies in two, give you another for free, get 4 years out of cost of one battery.

Actually, Autozone’s best battery has a 5 year warranty and that’s what I’m currently running.

I've had marginal luck with everything except lead acid batteries. I replace the two lead acid Mopar batteries in my Dodge CUMMINS in 2020 with over 15 years of trouble free use. A couple of the sealed batteries in mowers etc have done up to 12 years. Now, if I can get five years out of these newer batteries it's considered good service. One issue might be the constant draw down due to all of the electronics now installed on everything with a motor.

It's kinda rare for people to publicly admit that they're assholes. If in doubt there's always the r/AITAH subreddit to verify it.
It seems to me that the real asshole that have identified himself here is you. I merely related a long ago hassle with a Pinto driver and his concern that I was following him too closely.
At the time, I was fully aware of the distance between us and it was all under control..........which he it seems did not understand.
So relateing the story makes me the a.h. and just what the F..... is some ref to r/aitah....blah blah mean. Absolutely zero to me.

What batteries have you used that aren't lead acid? Something based on lithium?
Those were gel batteries. Yes, lead plates and acid, but not what I had used prior to them. I went back to flooded cell which requires some maintenance but have been extremely long lived.

I've had many Optima batteries over the decades. One of these that finally gave up on me was from 1990's. I think I still have a few. I started using Orbital batteries in early 2000's and Walmart AGM batteries also. I need to check one of my old Optima batteries that I swapped out of my Wrangler a few years back. A blue top, I've mainly used blue tops and few red tops. My XJ was "running" 2 Optima batteries for many years. Needed 2 for portable welder, my Wrangler Unlimited charges at 14.7 v since new so that could be reason I've had great luck with AGM batteries, and my XJ I replaced the alternator with hight output one that pushed out upper 13.9-14.3 v. The replacement battery in my JT is a Walmart AGM and O'Reilly ESS bulls### battery. It quit in 6 months.

A few things in general, several years back the last lead refinery in USA that refined virgin lead was closed. So much of the lead used in USA is recycled and likely contaminated with a lot of garbage.

On a second point, I definitely liked and used the Optima battery charger, the smaller one it was a great one it resurrected several batteries I had many times. . . Until the case disintegrated on it. I found a few comments on Optima batteries funny. My XJ and Comanche were parked for over 5 years before I got them moved to where I live now from S.E. GA. both started up with the same Optima batteries I left them parked in buddies field until I got a place to move them to. My 2 XJ's, MJ got parked a few times prior for over a year to 2 years without being started or recharged and started right up with Optima batteries when I got back from deployments. The same with my Wrangler Unlimited after I parked it and others late 07 until Feb 09. That said I don't think the newer Optima batteries are that good. One that I got around 2009 didn't last as long as others I've had.
