What do people think of the Optima Red Top 34/78 battery? Like it or hate it? And why. Thanks forum!

I think of it as a battery.

It has some red plastic on top of grey plastic.

Had them in some past vehicles.

Opted for a Walmart battery for the JL when the stocks shit the bed.

Thanks for reply and straight up simplicity. Researching batteries, most likely gathering too much info! 800 CCA vs 880 CCA, 50 ah vs 72 ah, reserve capacity @25 amps 100 vs 155. I need a teacher!

I have used both red tops and yellow tops. 15-20 years ago the best batteries readily available. No acid spill for 4x4ing great! IMO, not so much anymore. They changed manufacturing location and shortened the warranty. My last 2 died within weeks of the warranty ended. For a battery 20-30% more expensive, "Forget about it...." Good AGMs (no-spill) are everywhere from $170-$240. See battery list, H7, under Aux bypass threads.
