Hey everyone,

I recently bought a Steel Bumper for my Willy, but it came with gold tow hooks. I decided to swap them out for the black ones but I encountered an issue. I'm having trouble removing the locking nut (see photos)

Could anyone provide some guidance on how to remove the locking nut? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Grab the piece sticking up with a pair of Sandy's (Dikes) and twist. 'These will tear very easily.

All of these can be tossed once off. You won't need to reinstall them. It's an assembly line safety item.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if I needed to somehow keep them intact and reinstall. Makes sense.

Why not just paint them? I did the ones on the front of the Willys with red Rustoleum spray. Just a matter of taping off the bumper and a little scuff with scotchbright. Takes less than a half hour.
