You don't need to remove the key mechanism. There are 6 screws that you can remove from the plastic part holding the key mechanism. Once those are removed you can simply switch them out. I did it and it was way easy. 5 minutes. PM me if you need help. I can do a quick video.

I purchased the Trail Rail System (as shown) from a guy who had taken it out of his 2021 Jeep JLU. At the time I was planning on getting a Rubicon JLU but ended up getting the Rubicon 4XE. As a result, these will no longer fit as you lose about a foot of cargo space in the back on the 4XE...
