Hey Jeep Friends!

I'm about to (finally) take the plunge, with a lift, and some other goodies. Of course I want to also upgrade my wheels and tires. I have a 2021 JL Willys (2dr/manual/3.6), and was looking for a more retro style wheel (steely sorta) and narrowed it down to the Fifteen52 Analog HD or the Black Rhino Solid (both in black). Tires would be Nitto Ridge Grappler 35x12.50x17

The wheel specs are:
Fifteen52 Analog HD
17x8.5 4.75backspace 0mm offset

Black Rhino Solid
17x9.5 4.75backspace -18mm offset

I've looked up and down on the Interwebs for pics or posts about these wheels but can't find anything.

Is there a way to estimate what I kind of poke I would end up with based on rim and tire dimensions?

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

How much if any lift are going for, and what size tires. If you are staying stock, with no more than 33"/285 tires, then go with the Fifteen52s, 8.5" wide with zero offset. Zero will stick out slightly.

The Black Rhinos at 9.5" wide with -18 offset, will stick out quite a bit, and the 9.5" width is better suited for those 12.50" wide tires. The wider offset is better suited for lifted Jeeps where there is a benefit to pushing the wheel/tire assembly outward to avoid rubbing.

So, If you are lifting, and going with a 35x12.50 or bigger, then go with the Black Rhinos.

Very cool. Wow 44mm seems so far off from the -18mm of the Black Rhinos. Thanks for sharing!

Next question: I know this is based on preference, but how much poke is maybe over the top too much?
Wheels sticking way out with no lift, looks off, like it wasn't well thought out. And will likely rub on the fenders or liners when turned sharply. It will also have worse rubbing off road. Again, I'm talking unlifted.

Those are them! Any experiences with either?
Nope.

As much as I absolutely love both of those wheels especially the black Rhino. And as much as I want this šŸ‘‡ MT tire. I just can't seem to bring myself to going wide. I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe its a Military or old school look, the way they tuck right up there. I don't know, but there is just something about tall & skinny that I'm drawn too.

I look forward to seeing your setup when your finshed. šŸ‘

I am doing a 2.5" lift and 35x12.50x17 tires. My issue is looks (pure preference of course) but also drivability and stress on components being further outward on vehicle. But if I'm being honest it's more about looks.

Offroad for me is mostly deep sand and trails that can get muddy. No rock crawling for me.

Thanks! I'm kinda right in the middle. I like the old-school military look of an old CJ, but I do like the aggressive look of a wider stance. I'll be sure to post my upgrades when they're done.

I'll be doing a 2-1/2 lift with either of these wheel and tire setups. So now it's all about how much "poke" I really want.

Either wheel will work. I’d go for the zero, as I prefer the wheels closer to the body. And the 8.5ā€ wide wheel will do a better job of keeping your tire on the bead when aired down. But either is a good choice for what you plan.

One side note. The extra weight of 35s and aftermarket wheels, combined with the extra leverage of a wide offset is something to consider, as your Jeep likely has aluminum knuckles. -18 isn’t really all that crazy though.

Thanks so much for the info. I’m leaning towards the 0mm too. Problem is that wheel is on backorder while the -18mm wheel is available.
Hoping the leverage and wide stance isn’t an issue since my wheelin’ is mostly beaches and light muddy trails. No rock crawling for me. I’ll have to upgrade to brass knuckles! šŸ˜‰ Thanks!
