50/50 chance on this one. Thus why we want the TSB number from wb880 to confirm. Not likely. Stories don't result in resolution. This sounds like the software fix many have been waiting / hoping for.

Could be. I am just relaying my experience and satisfaction now. I had this problem from day one back in April when I bought it. This was my 3rd time to the dealer about the steering and second on the speedometer. I really feel that things were fixed this time.
That could be true, but when one has to wait 30+ days for a service appointment, I want to be fully prepared and having the TSB # would be that insurance policy. Especially when it has been the 4th, 5th, etc. visit for some people trying to fix this problem. Not likely. Stories don't result in resolution. p.s. I doubt the TSB number matters. My guess is that "central systems" has been updated and any reflash will load the revised software. Reflashes on the JL are from Mopar, not local from the dealer. In other words it wouldn't matter which dealer you went to or what TSB number you gave them. The dealer will link to the mother computer and it will download what it's been programmed to download (based on your VIN number).
Agreed. I'm just hoping that this is a real fix and I was conveying that the bulletin number might not matter if it's a software update that's pushed out from the mothership. The TSB number is definately good to have. As soon as we all know the TSB number I'm calling the dealer for an appointment. That could be true, but when one has to wait 30+ days for a service appointment, I want to be fully prepared and having the TSB # would be that insurance policy. Hi wb880,At MOST I might have about 1/2 inch play more like 1/3 of an inch. It drives very similar in response to my 2017 Durango police car, and 2017 and 2018 chargers. Just got back from a quick cruse. I now can prop up my left elbow on the window sill and use only my index finger and thumb to control the rubicon. Before, I had to use my entire hand and/or both hands on the highway.
It really does drive like a normal vehicle now.
I am pretty happy it’s resolved for you so we can only hope that FCA pushes this out to dealers and tell them to apply this TSB to anyone coming in for steering issuesHi,
I had some office work to fix today and have a landline and computer with internet available.
I called my dealer and they told me the TSB number is 08-092-18 (the same as Xtrooper).
I drove my Rubicon today again and my entire commute it drives different. The steering is almost perfect now and I think it is as good as it will get with a solid axle vehicle.
Up until yesterday I was thinking that I made a big mistake and this is going to be a very long lease for the next 33 months.
Now it is actually fun to drive.
The 25 mile highway part of my commute, I use to have to hold the wheel with both hands and a death grip to constantly keep the vehicle on the correct course. It was so bad that my other guys (patrol officers) would have pulled me over thinking I was drunk. Now today I was cruising with 2 fingers on the wheel with minor(normal) course corrections.
In-town driving is much improved. 25-45mph streets it stays straight. Acceleration and braking I used to get a shimmy like the vehicle wanted to pull randomly in one direction or the other. That is also gone now.
Not good, I’ve had the ball joints tightened already so my last hope is the TSBJust got back from the dealer the TSB did not change my loose steering at all but the 4 loose ball joint has made a pretty significant difference.
The TSB # (08-092-18) mentioned by OP matches the one released on July 7.Wb880 indicated the tech said his TSB came out yesterday (July 31). So either his tech was way off, or it is a different TSB.
And these guys are fixing our Jeeps? Yikes . .Would like the TSB. My last trip to the dealer about the steering the tech said all vehicles with big tires drive like that. I'm not going back till I have something concrete...........
Did you ask them why they said it was a brand new TSB that was issued a couple of days ago and that it came out in early July, not a couple of days ago? lol Thank them for the wild goose chase.Hi,

Basically because they are ignorant, don't pay attention to details or they don't give a s**t.Did you ask them why they said it was a brand new TSB that was issued a couple of days ago and that it came out in early July, not a couple of days ago? lol Thank them for the wild goose chase.
