I will probably order up the following heavy-duty scissor jack from Agile Offroad:
https://agileoffroad.com/product/heavy-duty-scissor-jack-by-agile-offroad/

But I'll also have to order the Safe Jack axle adapter mentioned above for the tight space at the front axle, and add the sleeve as well. Too bad Agile Offroad didn't think of that.

The only thing is it looks like the shaft of the AO adapter may be too short for the SJ adapter.
Before you spend a lot of $$$ on that pricey jack, make sure you check out the HMMWV scissor jack I discussed earlier in this thread. I relied on these for many years in the military and am thrilled to see them available in new or used condition for a fraction of the cost of AO's offering. No doubt they put out a great product, but the HMMWV jack is military-grade, made for much heavier vehicles, and costs way less. Win-win in my opinion, but best of luck with whatever option you choose.

I have two of the HMMWV scissor jacks that I bought for around $100 each in new condition quite a few years ago. Sadly, unless you have a source you can share, they were recently around $250 shipped in good condition on eBay. Then you still need some sort of adapter. I have a couple of the Agile off-road adapters which work well on my wider XR axle. I also carry a Hilift in a Dominion mount as a very last resort as I don’t enjoy unplanned dental work should something go awry.

I bought mine a couple years ago on eBay for around $100, and there were nice used ones for much less, probably between $60 and $75. I haven't been jack-shopping since then, so perhaps the supply has dried up? Adapting the jack for our Jeeps was cheap and easy, and you can see the configuration earlier in this thread.

For what it's worth, the new Agile Offroad jack appears to be heavier-duty than the HMMVW jack, which is hard to find now. Anyhow, glad there is still this option, and sad that their axle adapter is so wide.

I was hoping you had a secret source. I remember when they were being sold by the pallet at government auctions. I keep one in the Jeep and one in the garage. I might try that. I already have the safe jack attachment because I was trying to figure out how to adapt it to a Mercedes sprinter van hydraulic jack. One day, one fine day, @roaniecowpony is going to machine a billet spud for these sprinter van jacks. I’m counting on him for this 🤓

To complete my HMMWV jack saga above (if you really are still interested), I ordered a jack pad from Safe Jack, which worked out much better than the AO adaptor because it is only 1.5 inches wide and fits perfectly at both jacking points on the front axle; rear axle has plenty of room. Only modification I made on the Safe Jack pad, was to cut down both ends by 1/2", to avoid contact with the other suspension components along each axle. The setup works great, but the diameter of the jack pad's receiver is approximately .10-inch wider than the jack's ram, so it is much looser that the AO adaptor. To mitigate this, I will try to find a metal sleeve that is big enough to fit over the ram, and small enough to fit inside the jack pad's receiver. If that's not possible, a couple wraps of duct tape around the ram will fill the void and keep the jack pad snug but still moveable.

Luckily, after all my time driving HMMWVs in the military I never had to use one of these jacks, but they are great for Jeep use, thanks to their robust construction and wide 12"x7" base plate. Bottle jacks are great, but a quality scissor jack will never leak and is pretty much indestructible if used properly. Pretty clear why these were standard issue in the first place.

Hope this helps others who are interested in this jack setup and glad to answer any questions. Happy (and safe) Jeepin'!
Is that the 3” wide jack pad or the 5”?

I don't have access to it at the moment, but I'm pretty sure it is 5". Even if it was 3", it would still be way better than the stock jack. No matter what jack I use, I still carry a 12"x12" plywood square when I go offroad, just in case I need the extra stability.

Thanks, I figured probably the 5”, so I went ahead and ordered one. Still looking for a deal on the scissor lift

Based on the image, it's the 3". The 5" is gusseted.

Well, hopefully the 5” will work😜, oh well, either way, it’s only another $50 after all I’ve spent so far on my jeep
I don't see why the 5" wouldn't work, and the larger size makes it more versatile. But, I have the 3" and it's a pretty good fit for the axle tubes.

I was planning on using it for the axle tubes, so I hope it will be an acceptable fit. As usual, I appreciate your input. 😊

Duh, sorry...I thought were asking about the jack base. But yes, the pad is probably 3" because anything larger would have been impossible to fit at the ends of the front axle, especially on the driver's side. As it is, I still had to trim the ends back a little bit so I'd have a little wiggle room, but you can read my write up in more detail if needed. In any case, it is a great set-up and I don't go offroad without it.

The 5” is still 1.5” wide, so I guess I’ll find out soon enough, or I’ll have both in my tool bog😊. I did read this thread, and thanks for steering me in the right direction.
