Music from Flash Drive

My 2026 JL Rubicon X 4 Door will not recognize my flash drive with all my CD's loaded into it, anyone else have this problem?? Is there a fix ?

Are the file types on the flash drive mp3? Are you selecting the correct audio source from your stereo? Flash drive gone bad? Have you tried blowing really hard on the flash drive? Give it a good spank while you're at it. YouTube has most of the answers you're looking for as well.

I've had an issue where I took my USB from the uConnect, plugged it into my phone, copied some mp3s, I didn't eject the USB,

Plugged it into the uConnect, uConnect didn't recognize it.

Unplugged back in to the phone, browsed the files, ejected it properly this time.

Back into the uConnect, and it works without issues.

This happened once before also, most times I eject, the odd time I forget to, it might not read the USB drive.

I have about 3,000 songs on a drive loaded directly from my iTunes media. Mine's working fine.

I remember from my 2021 Rubicon: strange error until I cut the drive down to 16GB. mp3 tracks. No success with 32 GB regardless of content or format. Plus: the Wrangler refuses pop music.

I loaded all my CDs and MP3s into the Apple Music app on my iPhone. I don't have a subscription to purchase music but it allows me to store all my old music (technical debt ) in the app. Once I connect my iPhone and select source, I get access to all the loaded music.

Of course - my 12k songs in lossless formats on my Android phone also play, if its player is so configured. No need to plug into USB indeed. Still have it as backup.

I discovered the music I downloaded into my PC wasn't MP3 format 20 years ago. I have been redoing them all, it works now.

That would make it a hard drive.

Did anyone get to the bottom of this? And what’s the max USB size that you can use because if it’s 16 GB that’s really like what 100 songs 200 songs most

I'm using a Sandisk 32G mini USB plugged into the center console. It has about 3K songs. the Jeep doesn't like to keep track of your library with more than that. All files from my iTunes media folder directly to the drive in their original folders.

I've used the same USB drive, it worked fine for a long while. Then one day Uconnect started acting weird. Pulled the thumb drive and no issues since. Drive works fine on a PC, so who know.

Also, flac files work fine too, at least on my '19.

My JK could as it had a 40GB GD Nav unit but newer ones you can't/
