I have a new MP Concepts front bumper....the aluminum model that is built to look like the Rubicon OEM Steel bumper. I decided to use the Grimm Offroad winch plate because so many folks loved it on here and I felt it would hold up better.....also installed a Warn Zeon 8S winch.

I have two issues/questions I am hoping folks can help me with:

1. The Grimm plate has two "arms" forward that enable you to bolt the fairlead directly to the plate....sandwiching the front of the bumper in between. I like this...its a solid detail. However, with this in place, the bumper itself does not quite reach the frame.....so, the Grimm Plate is keeping the bumper from reaching the frame by one/half inch. Is this a common issue with the Grimm Plate? Can I just put washers/spacers on all 8 bolts to fill this space?

2. With the winch in place, the two bolts on the inside of the frame are EXTREMELY difficult to get to....let alone crank down to spec. Suggestions?

Sounds like my Genright bumper install in regards to reaching the 4 inner bolts. I ended up using a flat tip screwdriver to slide the nuts down to and starting the nuts! lol I managed to do it and used an impact on the bolt heads while wedging the flat of the screwdriver against the flat of a nut. Yeah, couldn’t torque to proper spec but I was out of options.

Did you have to trim the inner frame horns to fit the winch? If so, it is likely the outside edge of the winch which is hitting the inner upper mounting pads on the bumper...IF your bumper is built to same size/specs of OEM...

I used the Grimm plate to mount a Zeon 10-
s on a ''24 with OEM steel bumper and while it was a very tight fit, in the end all came out perfect!

My issue (maybe yours) was the front bumper hitting the outside edges of the winch so to keep from spacing the bumper out (which I did NOT want to do) I had to modify (cut and carefully grind) the inner upper bumper mounting pads. All bolts / nuts installed and torqued to spec.

I have the exact same combo - MP Concepts aluminum bumper and Grimm winch plate. Good choice - I actually bent the winch plate that came with the bumper. I accidentally stalled the winch on an ice dam that built up in front of the front axle in slushy snow, and the back edge bent up. Crummy alloy, lousy construction, maybe both - anyway don't use it for more than a doorstop. Grimm is lighter, stronger, better and smarter constructed, excellent choice.

My Grimm plate came with a pair of spacers to solve the fit problem. Yours didn't? Anyway spacers are available. Hardened washers would do the job too.

I have the Warn Evo 10s, and it wasn't too tricky to get to the frame nuts. I recall you need a deep socket to fit over the protruding bolt, then a swivel and just the right length of shorty extension. Or, a wobble-head extension should be all you really need, you don't really need a big angle. Hopefully the Zeon 8 isn't much bulkier, but I guess I can't promise.

Good luck
