Anybody have any experience with the motobilt boat side rock sliders. Im interested if they held up to any abuse since they aren’t the frame mounted ones they offer. I’m considering either those or the lod destroyer series but leaning towards motobilt since I already have motobilt bumpers.

Also, if anybody has suggestions for 2door rock sliders let me hear em. Slim pickins for quality 2 door rockers.

I’ve beat the hell out of mine since I’ve got a 4dr. Not an issue at all, they’ve held up to Table Mesa and Florence Junction trails. I was worried about the supposed “body damage/flexing” since the JL sheet metal isn’t as thick/strong as the JK. So, contacted a few guys off of this forum that were the first hardcore wheelers I saw using the Motobilt sliders. They both sent pics and vids of the sliders supporting the full weight of the JL and zero damage to the body or the sliders. I was impressed and ordered the Motobilt setup without any concern.

That’s awesome. Thanks for the info. I frequent those areas too. How about the step platform? Seems like it’s in an awkward spot to actually be useful

I use the platform as a step when I wash it, otherwise I just try and hop over it when getting in and out of the Jeep. It’s too high to be a useful step for getting in and out.

One thing I do after a trail run, I use a file to knock down any burrs in the metal, so you don’t cut yourself or clothes when you brush against them.

Right on dude, solid info. I still haven’t pulled the trigger as I’m contemplating something that has a better step option for the wife. It is our daily as well. Problem is that there isn’t anything really better either lol.
