I'm about to install the Mopar trailer brake control in order to tow my new (to me) E-Pro 19FD travel trailer. I watched a few installs on YT but they don't mention the need for a software flash. But, I do have a Tazer JL installed and just noticed one of the options that it mentions is " “TrlrBrk” configure vehicle for MOPAR trailer brake controller." I won't receive the brake controller until tomorrow, so it isn't installed yet, otherwise I would hook up my laptop to the tazer and select that option.
So, I was wondering if the tazer option will be required to enable the controller and what other functions might it enable, like display notifications when the controller is in use.

Thanks,
Rob

I still don't know if the Mopar brake controller requires a flash or not, but there was an option to enable it in my Tazer. So I enabled the feature and the brake controller works perfectly. I did not try the brake controller before I enabled it through the tazer, so I have no idea if it is required.
