Diode On Mopar Trailer Brake Controller

I know that on 18-19 JL’s with collision mitigation a diode is required on the power line to the Mopar Trailer Brake Controller.

I recently purchased the newer version of the brake controller for my 2023, part 82215652AC. My Jeep does not have adaptive cruise or collision mitigation.

Is this diode still necessary? Or has Jeep resolved the issue with the updated design?

The problem was resolved by a software fix for the ABS module on the Jeeps built before January 2020. Yours will be good to go as is.
