I'm curious why your 24 Rubicon XR did not come with a steel front bumper... Mine did. That is part of the XR package. Do you have your window sticker? If it shows it and the Jeep did not come with it I would be back at my dealer asking for it to be replaced with what it was supposed to come with...

That is not part of the XR package. It may possibly be now but it was an option in 2024

I 2nd what Bennybeaver said. It's going to take some time. People really hold on to these and when they're listed they, sell quickly. I just picked mine up today after looking for months. I regret selling mine along with the skid 2 years ago when I traded in my JLUR. I had a feeling I was going to end up back in a Jeep again one day but didn't listen to my gut.

Ended up purchasing a MetalCloak bumper

No offense but that is incorrect. My 2024 Rubi X window sticker shows front & rear steel bumpers are included in the 24Y "X" package. Might check your window sticker...

Is there a difference between a Rubicon X package and the XR package?

Think of the Rubicon X as a trim level, that includes the steel bumpers, power leather seats and the 35 inch tires.
The XR package is the 35 inch tire package and was available on Willys and Rubicon trims.

Wow that was a deal! I've been looking for a couple months and just the full width bumper that came off of a Moab edition for $750. Congrats.

Did you have any issues with the Badlands winch install? I have one that's been sitting in my storage unit til I found the bumper. Now I just need the winch plate and skid. Figure I'd install it all at once instead of having to take things on and off.

No issues at all with the install. The winch plate is a believe a smittybuilt, it was a little tight of a fit but worked just fine.

Pretty sure it didn’t, If you have leather package and the painted hardtop and fenders they come with the steel bumpers. I paid 54,000 for a 67,000 dollar jeep. I will buy a bumper

I just did this swap.

Steel Bumper and hardware
Steel Skid and hardware
Skid mounting brackets and nutcerts to install in frame
Winch Plate if installing winch
Fairlead if installing winch
I went with Maximus3 metal closeout panels to fill the big gaps between the bumper and grille instead of cutting the flimsy stock plastic one
Foglight 2 bolt adapter brackets, Oracle has a nice set, I bought cheap ones on Amazon and then had to spend $20 to get the correct hardware for them, Oracle would have been the better choice.

Mine was a factory winch bumper that came with a winch, so it has the longer crush can covers on it. I'm going to look for some shorter ones and swap them out. I also installed the Maximus3 flag mount on the passenger side for when I go to the sand dunes.

I believe that was everything.

I came across across the part number for the covers, but not the cans, they are part of the bumper mount, I was just going to cut my cans down. The covers were like $18 at the dealer, but i didn't write down the part number. You need 2 plastic rivets per cover too.

I just traded the 2018 in for a new 2025 JLUR XTreme package and had the dealer swap my steel bumper over to the new Jeep. Apparently the fog light plugs are different. The dealer ran into this issue during the install. I'm not sure what they did or if they did anything. They claimed they completed the install. When I picked up the Jeep the fogs didn't work. I had an appointment tomorrow for them to fix the fogs but they called late today to reschedule. So I'm going to try and do some trouble shooting myself.

Anyone here have suggestions I might miss...

23 and earlier have a 4 pin connector and the 24 and up have a 12 pin connector...you can pull the pins from 4pin and install them in the 12 pin....look on the passenger side and see if the connector is connected....the first photo is the 12 pin and the second is the harness from pre 24's..
