Mopar 2 inch Lift Spring "Bow" Explanation

Found this video from Mopar on the JL 2 inch lift kit. Reason posting it explains the "bow" in the front springs is normal.

The slight bow is understandable to clear the frame at full compression, but I have seen on several occasions where the springs touch the metal portion that the bumpstops attach to. I can't believe that is by design

I'm just going to install Rubicon take-offs for now on my JLUS. Hopefully in years to come there will be more refined "lifts" for the JL.

The mopar kit leaves a lot to be desired, but there are definitely nice kits out already. JKS already has J-Spec kits with a trackbar and all the right pieces, ICON has some really complete kits of differeing stages, and theres a lot more.

Id like to see Teraflex offer a trackbar already, and I know Synergy is going to be knocking it out the park too very soon.

My RC kit has curved springs too. I think it makes some sense, given the solid axle design.

Rock Krawler springs don't bow at all either. Why is it that the two main companies teraflex and Rock Krawler that make nothing but Jeep parts dont make their springs bow ?Is it maybe they know something that the other companies don't that let their springs bow and tell you oh it's made that way lol. it gets weaker and weaker and next thing you know it's hitting the bump stop.
I would think they would know if it was good or not and because they do nothing but jeeps.so I say to the guy in the video this is normal right there made this way to hit the bump stop eventually like this one is. You can put a new spring on but it would do the same thing. You have to put the RK isolators in there but then they say if you do it hit the frame vs it went to bump stop for it the it

I got my RK isolators on today and and it did help a lot. But they still bow just a little bit and are still not as straight as a set of Rock Krawlers or Teraflex would be. But I NEVER buy Mopar springs EVER again

The other brands don't bow because they include an adjustable track bar. Center the axle and they will be straight.

Because it pulls to the right or what if I let go of the steering wheel it takes off to the right and the lineman spot on but I can't and the linema watch on the toe because I don't have just one track bar and lower control arms. What would you get first the adjustable control arms or the adjustable track bar ? Can't get both right now which one would you get first to stop the pull and the wandering to the right

The pull to the right could be tire related.

Adjustable control arms will correct your caster which will make steering less flighty. The track bar will center your axle which could help with pull.

I have the Mopar lift and went with an adjustable front track bar and geometry correction brackets in addition to the arms provided in the Mopar kit. The jeep drives straight and has no pull.

Rough Country makes a great track bar and it retails for $150. Better priced than others but one of the beefiest on the market.

Geometry brackets are cheaper than arms and correct caster. Additionally they put the arms back closer to stock angles with results in a better ride. The Rubicon Express brackets are around $120. They are a great option if you aren't a rock crawler.

someone did tell me about getting the geometry correction brackets said put those on and I don't even have to do an alignment and it will correct it and helped a lot. Didn't the lift kit come with drop-down brackets to help with the control arms or something?so would you do the adjustable track bar first or the geometry correction brackets I can only do one thing at a time money's tight right now with christmas and my daughter in college now. I was looking at the control arms and I did see the rough country I don't care what anybody says I have no problem with their stuff all the lights have been good and their warranty is better than anybody's and they answer their phones late at night till 8.they're good people up in tennessee.some people think if you spend the most and the most expensive one you get the best not always true there are such thing as people and companies not wanting to take advantage and rip you off. Some people it's all in the name on some of that stuff. I'll just give example on ice chest not one company gives you a bumper sticker to put in your window with an ice chest but yeti. And they proven all those other ice chest half the price ice last longer or just as good or long then yeti. I tell people they're buying a $300 bumper sticker and $100 ice chest.it's all name if someone had a coleman or igloo sticker in the window it would mean nothingi. But if someone has a yeti sticker in the window they want you to know they spent a lot of money why else would they give you a sticker LOL anyway I was looking at the rough country adjustable track bar for $199so should I do the geometry correction brackets first or the track bar probably close to the same price
