Yeah this is not true. It's a complete caricature of what I said, and what I ACTUALLY said is absolutely true. A couple of kid's disagreement with what constitutes a "refresh" does not change that fact. Hell you and your sidekick didn't even know what a torque converter did until I had to explain it to you.
You sure about that?

Well, it seems that the only automatic here is straw men and denial.

Y'all took the fun out of this thread.

What is interesting is the Gladiator is now only available with the 3.6 Automatic…

2024 Rubicon X
I just bought a 2024 Rubicon X (3.6, Auto) for about $12k off MSRP. For once, I'm glad I timed a vehicle purchase correctly. Interestingly, in 2024, I don't think the Rubicon X was even offered with the 2.0?

The 3.6 was miserable here in CO in my old 2012 JK where it was paired with the old Chrysler 5-speed auto. The 8-speed is such a huge improvement and I'm happy with the performance at altitude. But, I'm just not in a hurry when I drive the Jeep.

It is a shame though that Stellantis doesn't have a solid, well-rounded engine option available for the Wrangler. Seems like they missed a huge opportunity to make an inline six work.

The 2.0 is an inline turbo 4 and is a nasty, hateful little thing like all engines of that design. The 3.6 is old and underpowered by modern standards. The 392 drinks gas and so they don't want you to buy it.

Wish they had kept the diesel!

For instance - the 2.0l. You consider a turbo 4 cylinder the future.

Gas engines aren't the future.
Gas engines aren't the future? According to the documents we've seen, the JL70 (a Jeep "in the future") will have a REPB-based variant. Will you retract your apparent claim that gas engines aren't the future when the next generation (i.e. "the future") will apparently include gas engines?

Or maybe I'm reading that wrong and you're claiming that @Remorseless thinks that gas engines aren't the future while also thinking that the turbo 4 (a gas engine) is the future.

I've learned to be careful quoting you when you're not clear, especially when neither / any interpretation makes sense.

There's nothing to make sense of. Gas engines aren't the future. Period. This isn't complicated and it makes perfect sense. The fact that the next generation of the Jeep Wrangler has a gas engine option doesn't change that. GM is going to release an entire new generation of SBC V8's...that STILL doesn't make gas engines the future.

Except for the immediate future, or the medium term future ... those ones yea ICE is the future ... but the FUTURE FUTURE yea that one no ICE is gone.
