Everyone wants to compare the 2 at sea level... there output is almost the same. At 10k feet the turbo has over 20% more power, unless you're the one guy that argued it's not true unless you dyno them both at 10k feet. That's not a small difference. It's massive and glaring.

I don't think that's correct. According to my District CDJR manager the V6 Auto will be available to order starting calendar year 2025.

The Order Guide and the official FCA release say different.

Now, of course it’s possible that Jeep will change this policy later this year. They do such things all the time. But I wouldn’t bank on it.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the change happening once production is back in swing. Probably just a limitation to reduce certain inventory.

Naw we already knew we were right. This really changes nothing.
Yeah you're right, right in your own mind maybe.

I test drove the 2l and 8-speed combo and was less than impressed.

And before you start in about oh my God the factory clutch is junk understand that I don't care what the factory parts are or aren't. Literally pointless.

I wasn’t surprised to see it in the Order Guide. I was surprised to see it in the official announcement about MY changes. There was a period of about four months last year where you couldn’t order a 2.0 at all, but Jeep never made any official announcement about it. If someone has their heart set on a V6 + Auto, they would be wise to act now, especially with the current deals to be had.

I bet the Pentastar carries on. Most do not want the 4-cylinder. The elimination of the V6 would only hit sales even more. I just do not see this happening. Most buy the V6 Auto!!
What if I told you the 2.0 sells faster than the V6?

That looks more official-ish!
And more in line of what I would expect. May need those boat anchors for JT Barge sales and pushing the 2.0 in the JL for a bit helps with that.

Yes and if your friend jumps off a bridge are you going to follow him?

The only thing that proves is that people are mindless lemmings.

Most people really don't know enough about cars and engines in general to have an informed opinion one way or the other.

They are both good engines. Yes, I am partial to the V6, but I live at 1,400 elevation. I have driven through Colorado, and the Sierra Nevada mountains, but don't live there, so it didn't bother me. Jeep has to push the 4cyl because of the fuel mileage. They don't sell any EV's as of right now and the fuel credits are killing them. That's why the V8 is gone in the Ram trucks. For example with GM for every Silverado/Sierra EV they sell they can sell 30 Silverado/Sierra HD trucks. For every Blazer EV they sell, they can sell 5 Silverado LD's. Same with Ford. They build these EV's and lose money on them so they can sell the full-size V8 monsters and not pay a huge penalty. Stellantis didn't do that and now they are playing a serious game of catch up.

But many of us that do know enough to have informed opinions find the 2.0 to be pretty darn good, good enough that we'd take it in a JL over the 3.6 every single time if given a choice.
