The wife and I will be headed out to Moab in late June. Will be doing trails for about 5 days in the area. Can I air down and leave it until we are ready to drive out of the area? I usually air down to 18-20 and run 32-34 on highway. I know when come off of a trail we may have to run highway to get back into Moab or other trail heads...is it okay to run aired down if we drive under 45mph? I have the ability to air back up...just looking to save a bit of time for more trails.

Absolutely. I run down the highway aired down and have for decades without incident. Up to 45 or so I’m not gonna air up. I might even run 55 for up to 30 minutes.

Highway speeds for more than 30 minutes is sort of my decision point. I have never experienced tire damage or overheating - and I’ve checked- YMMV.

You’ll be fine not airing up. Agree with Jim, you won’t be going that fast or for long periods of time aired down on paved roads near Moab.

What trails you planning to run?

Fins and Things, Shafer, long canyon, LaSal and Geyser pass, courthouse, Gemini Bridges, Chicken Corners...I have others on the list depending on time. My Son-in-law and daughter are coming with in their jeep and have not done much off roading. So nothing to crazy!
